I’m a hardcore Apocalypse Now fanatic, and this, the current version of the film, is what made me one, several years ago. Reviewers like to debate endlessly over which version is better, this or the Redux. Personally, I like both, but I obtain this new version to be more surreal, relentless, and, to quote another reviewer, more “hazardous.” The fact is, Coppola outmoded different shots and edits in the Redux, in some cases diluting the surreal impact of the recent. Plus the characters Kilgore and Kurtz arrive off more strongly in the original; definite, we salvage to glimpse more humanity from Kilgore in the Redux, but his exit in the fresh is powerful more memorable, remarkable better than the “tossing megaphone into the air” antics as shown in the Redux. And Kurtz is a more grand Wicked One in the modern version, not worthy more than a shadow.

What gets me is that, in the press releases that came out with Redux, Coppola claimed that he no longer considered the 1979 version of Apocalypse to be “recent.” He felt that, today, it comes off as a rather ordinary film. So he integrated an extra 50 minutes into the movie, to obtain it more current. The thing is, the Redux is, if anything, MORE normal than the fresh. After all, you net more character development, a romantic subplot, etc; all the things the novel (and new), novel version lacked. The very lack of these things is what gives the unusual such a mysterious, perilous edge. There is no levity in the fresh, no stealing of surfboards, no Playmates for the PBR crew. Only the dim jungle, and the mission.

If it’s lawful that Coppola wanted to produce the novel version even more fresh, then I wonder why he chose to add the Plantation sequence and the Playboy Bunnies escapade. Having seen the Work Print, I know that there is a wealth of material Coppola could’ve veteran. Bizarre? Unique? How about a scene in which Martin Sheen’s Willard, trapped in a bamboo cage, writhes in wound as the montangnards (and Kurtz’s American soldiers) dance and chant around him, as they sacrifice a pig? Or how about Willard, level-headed in the cage, being questioned by Kurtz, who tells Willard that he’s as musty as his “colleagues in Washington? ” Or how about possibly the most bizarre scene of all: Dennis Hopper’s Photojournalist being shotgunned to death by Scott Glenn’s character Colby?

Buy,Download, Or Stream Apocalypse Now – The Complete Dossier! Click Here

Coppola could have customary any or all of these scenes to construct a truly “original” film, one that would successfully develop a darker film. If anything, the extra scenes in Redux lighten the film’s mood. Coppola could have even improved on the waste of the movie. That’s one thing that’s always bothered me about Apocalypse Now. Willard’s hired to slay Kurtz; when he finally does, all he has to do is honest high-tail into Kurtz’s temple, prefer out one guard, and then accumulate to hacking at Kurtz. It comes off as so easy, you wonder why the Army even bothered hiring Willard. This jam is solved in the Work Print, which features Willard taking on a host of guards, including one plain scene in which he spears an American guard who cowers unhurried a young, Vietnamese boy. Now, if you ask me, that’s more “novel” than a bunch of French people arguing politics at the dinner table! But unfortunately, Coppola has chosen not to consume these scenes, in either official version of the film.

I don’t intend to mislead, though. I judge the Redux is pretty, a five-star movie. It expands on the broader themes of Apocalypse Now, but at the same time lessens the impact of the movie itself. After having watched the Redux a few times, I popped the modern in for the first time in a few years. I was amazed at how the film seemed so different than the Redux, so distinguished more psychedelic and surreal. Even the fades and images shown in the beginning and the waste are different in the recent, more disturbing. And that’s the main incompatibility between the two versions: the new is grand more disturbing.

I’ll enact with another quote, taken from the web. Which director do you believe is better, the Francis Coppola of 1976/1979, or the Francis Coppola of 2001? Of these two very different directors, whose vision would you be more willing to trust?

1/27/09 update: Six years ago I also had a review for the “Redux” DVD here on Amazon. Somehow it’s been removed from the dwelling — it seems Amazon has combined the reviews for the unusual Apocalypse Now DVD release with the reviews for the “Redux DVD” release. And since Amazon has a policy that a reviewer can only post one review per item, it appears that my “Redux” review got the boot. I’ve rescued it from oblivion via a Google cache search; please glance the Comments fraction, below, for the review.

This review refers to the Widescreen Collection(Paramount) DVD edition of “Apocalypse Now – Redux”……

In 1979’s “Apocalypse Now”, Francis Ford Coppola presented us with a mesmerizing, pleasing inspect at the horrors of Viet Nam. It was a film that looked at the hearts and minds of the soldiers and the effects the brutualities had on them. A lovely work at the time, you wouldn’t acquire it could be any better. But now, more than 20 years later(and well worth the wait), Coppola has seen his vision completed, with the reediting of the film and the addition of previously deleted scenes, to bring us this gift of the even more mesmerizing “Apocalypse Now Redux”.

There is an additional 49 minutes now, and although I don’t feel that every slight of it was indispensable to making this classic film an even better one, there is a modern legend here that helps us picture to the frame of mind of the soldiers. A scene where the boat crew takes time out for a rendevous with the playboy bunnies is one example of that. And although this scene may be a bit of a shocker at first, as it introduces a sexual situtaion where it was previously non exsistent, it gives us a greater conception of what’s going on in their heads. The added scene of the time spent on the French Plantation was again an eye-opener, and the funeral for “Mr. Natty” also was a welcome addition as it gives us a closure to the closeness we felt to this character. And of course, a exiguous more time with the insane Colonel Kurtz was enlightning as well (who wouldn’t want to exercise a cramped more time with any character of Brando’s? ) .

The fresh film from 1979 received 8 nominations by Oscar, including Best Report, Director, and a supporting actor nod for Robert(”I like the smell of Napalm in the morning”) Duvall. It took home well deserved Oscars for Cinematography(Vittorio Storaro) and Sound.

It stars Martin Sheen as Lt. Willard, who beset with his maintain emotional problems is sent on a uncertain mission to “finish” the esteemed Col. Kurtz, played brillantly by Brando, who has now been driven insane by “The Dismay” of it all. Willard is escorted into the wilds of Cambodia by a boat crew including a young Laurence Fishburne and Frederick Forrest. You will also win Dennis Hopper, Harrison Ford, Sam Bottoms,Albert Hall, and Christan Marquand in this astonishing cast.

The DVD is beautifully remastered. You won’t miss a thing with the widescreen presentation and the amazing Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround sound. The colors and sounds of the jungles are captured wonderfully. There are no Special features, but may be viewed with English subtitles is needed. The scene selection does show which are the fresh scenes which is quite obliging if it’s been a while since you’ve seen it.

Still can’t choose between the new and the Redux. This film is a care for in any obtain. It’s a part of cinematic history that’s probably worth getting both editions if you can. If not, give this one a try. It’s a must for fans of classic cinema.

“Never Earn Out of The Boat”….Lt. Willard….thanks and savor..Laurie

Comedy great for the whole family, but unfortunately not too silly. Supposedly based on a legend by O. Henry, this was apparently made for TV and later remarketed on DVD to exploit the young Osment’s unusual fame after he starred in Sixth Sense. It takes space in the primitive west, when Christopher LLoyd (Taxi, Aid To The Future) and Michael Jeter consider they can obtain a rapidly fifty by kidnapping the banker’s son (Osment) . But the banker doesn’t hold them. Meanwhile the kid’s having a mammoth faded time playing with his kidnappers. Kind of like Disney’s No Deposit, No Return; not as comic.

I fancy this movie. I laughed so hard when I saw it. I admit it is very wearisome but that only makes it more fun. There is no trusty deep myth line and all of the charecters are stupid and dumber. All in all it is impartial pure kindly intertainment. Fun for the whole family.

Okay, 1974’s VAMPYRES admittedly has numerous nude scenes–full frontal female nude scenes, in some cases–that was a prerequisite for the sexploitation awe pouring out of Europe in the 1970s. And yes, the two female players have hourglass figures, vast bosoms, and glowing faces. However, this British indie film, directed by Spanish auteur José Ramón Larraz, has a cinematic sparkling that makes it stand out above its contemporaries as a fright film of good quality. Larraz does a wonderful job of directing, working in conclude conjunction with cinematographer Harry Waxman to ensure that nearly every shot of every scene is a balanced, well-framed image. In keeping with the spooky atmosphere of the moldering English manor house and surrounding grounds ancient for place shooting, production designer Ken Bridgeman maintains the perfect ambiance throughout. And unlike many other buxom sexploitation actresses of the era, erotic stars Marianne Morris and Anulka (Dziubinska) can actually act, and they do a top-notch job in making the eponymous characters both scary and sympathetic.

In addition to the outstanding efforts of cast and crew, the tight, well-written script is refreshingly new–even from this vantage point of some thirty years hence. Avoiding the usual vampire clichés, these VAMPYRES are really more like ghosts who have some inexplicable but insatiable desire to feed on the blood of the living. They don’t have fangs, they can tolerate moderate sunlight, and instead of resting in passe primitive caskets, they sleep in a wine cellar during the brightest of the daylight hours. They also can eat, drink liquids other than blood, and seem to genuinely bask in sex. And they even sometimes have sympathy for their victims, a characteristic that may lead to their ultimate downfall.

The memoir of the vampire has always been regarded as sexual in nature, especially the intimacy of the flesh-penetrating bite on the neck. VAMPYRES carries this metaphor to the low, with heterosexual vampiric coitus portrayed as an intensely passionate, rigorous event that includes feasting on the blood of the non-vampiric partner. And the eponymous characters in VAMPYRES don’t gently suck from two pricks in the neck; in the midst of sexual passion, they bound begin their victims and lap up the crimson liquid with ferocious, writhing pleasure.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Vampyres! Click Here

In short, VAMPYRES is an worthy British erotic terror flick that is grand to most others from its era of origin, and it can even stand up against many straightforward, non-sexploitation panic films. It is well written, well acted, and has high production values throughout–and all this in spite of a indecent, improper budget. Director Larraz and his co-scripters have hold an belief that they could play for camp or sheer sexploitation and, instead, assert a thought-provoking seek at indiscriminate and promiscuous sex, physical obsession, and guilt. And on top of that, they detached throw in lots of scrumptious T&A.

The DVD from Blue Underground is a vast remove. Not only does it explain a widescreen restored director’s version of this kindly film–transferred primarily from the fresh negatives–but it also has lots of chilly extras. It offers a feature-commentary track with director José Ramón Larraz and producer Brian Smedley-Aston that is both hilarious–due to Larraz’s frank expend of English colloquialisms–and informative. And there are also modern interviews with Marianne Morris and Anulka Dziubinska, the film’s glorious stars; a lost scene recreated via production stills; U.S. and European trailers; and more. This is a allotment of erotic artistic cinematic history that any serious awe fans will want to add to their collections.

A pair of bisexual women (Marianne Morris and Playboy playmate Anulka) living in a shaded, decaying mansion have a craving for blood and sex. Hitchiking in long dark cloaks, they lure men home and then buy them to bed, slit them with knives, and dump the bodies, making it glance like a car shatter. They like one guy so mighty they retain him around for days and he knows something unpleasant is happening, but he’s not clear what. Some people camping nearby also suspect that the women are up to irregular things…. The violence is strong even though there’s more blood than gore, plenty of sex and nudity, and some very lyrical, magnificent scenes. The ending throws a whole unique, darker twist on the proceedings and ties it all together nicely. It has kind of a “Hammer Films” examine to it, but the storyline is more along the lines of Jean Rollin. Even though the budget was miniature, this is a quality-looking film. The DVD looks big and contains a commentary track with producer Brian Smedley-Aston and director Joseph Larraz that’s worth listening to – it’s informative, and Larraz is hilarious and pulls no punches – ya gotta esteem the guy, even though he admits he’s become a dirty ragged man (the comment during one of Anulka’s nude scenes had me rolling on the floor) . :) It’s one of the most spellbinding commentary tracks I’ve heard on a DVD, and a quality film besides.

Soooo fellow geek classic monster collectors, philosophize me, does this sound familiar? You are perusing various sites and store DVD racks and you stumble across these 75th Anniversary editions of DRACULA and FRANKENSTEIN and your geek heart starts palpitating at the opinion of digitally restored version of these films and you salvage all enraged and you launch deciding which funny books you’ll give up this month to capture these instead…….but then you remember you’ve bought the last TWO previously released DVD versions of these films and now you wonder if these are worth it? OK….well…maybe this is kind of an exaggeration, but you know what I mean. I bowed to temptation because, well….Universal has me with their monster releases from scheme encourage….period.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Dracula! Click Here

Soooo…..as it is obligatory when one has bought three releases of the same d@mn film, I sat down with them all and ran them through to resolve which was the best of them. It is without demand IMO, that the DRACULA 75th DVD is the best transfer when compared to the 90’s (poster art), and the first LEGACY (green box art) releases. Picture-wise, the amount of speckles, noise and whatnot has been lop quite a bit. This is most apparent in the darker scenes. So on a beneficial label, seeing less snowy junk pop up is nice. Some of the scenes also recognize less jittery. For example, in the previous releases, the scene when Frye first comes into Drac’s home and Lugosi is descending the staircase unhurried him, the film image is really tremulous…like watching a dreadful bootleg. In this 75th release it looks stable and doesn’t have that funky aliasing watch. The overall describe quality fair feels cleaner in this release. But there is serene a honorable amount of junk throughout the film that this cannot possibly be considered the definitive restoration. Only some making the leap from VHS to DVD will procure their socks knocked of with this release. If you bought the other two, then you might be ecstatic, but probably underwhelmed despite the favorable points. Like the FRANKENSTEIN release, this composed feels like a money making thing than an anniversary homage to this film especially after the promise of something unique from a third dip. Some people may say that we can’t inquire distinguished because the film is so dilapidated. But sorry, after THREE RELEASES, and most especially since this one is clearly the supposed icing-on-the-cake release so far, well, I consider Universal could have done even better than this, Mighty BETTER. Technology as it stands nowadays is very forgiving when cleaning up outmoded films…..but companies need to be willing to keep the money into using said technololgy. I would assume that even if the buying public of an older film such as this is slight and Universal wasn’t going to pour a ton of cash into it, well, being the third time releasing the same d@mn movie, would it be scandalous to acquire they’d have enough saved in the piggy bank to do a definitve restoration instead of this continued fleecing, but hey, guess that’s business. I contemplate if they DID do grand better and THEY knew it, we would have gotten Unusual SPECIAL FEATURES and none of the stuff that was already on the other two releases place for the one Lugos bit that is fresh here.

Sound-wise, I have to agree with other reviews that I have read that mention that the 90’s release had better sound. It did seem a bit crisper. But like the FRANKENSTEIN releases, picking the better sound with DRACULA is like picking the lesser o two evils…….do you want Niagra Falls somewhere in the background or do you want gentle rapids? To me, all of the background hissing and popping and rustling sounds funky on all of the releases, but they eventually unbiased become portion of the film. I don’t really have great of a preference as none have ever been so desirable that I could build myself care THAT worthy.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Dracula! Click Here

VALUE: Hmmmmmm……..if you have the money, this is the best DRACULA to derive in terms of describe and such. But one has to ask themselves how great they care about this film to fork over the cash for honest one film. If you are only marginally eager in this DRACULA, but smooth want a copy, I’d go for the LEGACY area as that comes with other films and is the better value overall. This release is truly for the purists and gluttons for finacial punishment such as myself. Even though I have now three copies of this film, I have aloof only managed to perceive it less than ten times since the first 90’s release since, even though a classic, I acquire DRACULA mostly a lifeless affair when watched repeatedly so I hafta bewitch it in like wine….uninteresting…and over time. So my point is, one has to ask themselves, how considerable do you care to tumble the cash for yet another copy of this if you already have it?

PACKAGING: For the most share, identical to the green LEGACY sets. That is, the faux hardback book case that opens up to utter two DVD’s. Only here, there is NO start window slipcover to protect the case. This seems kinda cheap since the case is a frosty, leather-ish ‘grained’ hide printed in matte sepia, which is nice. But it will succumb to scuffs and such worthy faster than the better protected LEGACY plot.

OVERALL: Like the FRANKENSTEIN 75th….this is cold if you got the money to upgrade. But for what it’s touted as, this detached is gets 50/50 from me. Impartial support in mind that the ‘definitve’ HD/BLUE RAY versions will near at some point ……..or at least the first versions of -those- definitve versions…so we ain’t outta the woods yet.

This DVD is the “Jewel in the Crown” of the classic Universal fright films released in that format. It includes a quality print of the Bella Lugosi DRACULA, with options to play the film with Philip Glass’ new soundtrack; the so-called “Spanish” DRACULA starring Carlos Villarias; and a interesting documentary hosted by Carla Laemmle, who has a bit role in the Lugosi DRACULA and who was niece to Universal studio head Carl Laemmle. There is also an audio track by David J. Skal, production notes, and the like.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Dracula! Click Here

The Lugosi DRACULA is somewhat problematic. DRACULA had been previously (and illegally) filmed as the calm NOSFERATU, and a later stage adaptation proved a staple of the British theatre. When the stage play at last arrived in Original York, the title role fell to Bela Lugosi. Although Universal optioned the material, studio head Carl Laemmle was not keen about it; although European films were comfortable with the supernatural, American films were not, and Laemmle did not occupy the public would score such an irrational record. Nor was Laemmle eager in Lugosi; if DRACULA was to be filmed, it would be filmed with Lon Chaney.

When Chaney died the hide role went to Lugosi by default, but there were further issues. Originally planned as a big-budget production, the deeping Sizable Depression made the film’s box office possibilities seem even slighter than before and its budget was slash to the bone. And Todd Browning, who had been such a successful director of the macabre in the still era, proved clumsy with sound. The resulting film was more than a small clunky–but it had two things going for it: a gracious first thirty minutes and Lugosi. Although Lugosi’s performance may seem excessively mannered by today’s standards, audiences of the 1930s found it terrifying–and even today, when the character of Dracula comes to mind, we are more likely to believe of Lugosi than other actor that later played the role.

For a brief time after the advent of sound, several studios made foreign language versions of their productions. The “Spanish” DRACULA was one such film, and when the English language company wrapped for the day the Spanish speaking cast arrived and filmed through the night using the same sets. This gave the Spanish company the help of hindsight: they were perfectly aware of what the English language company was doing, and they deliberately status out to best it. The result is a somewhat longer, more cohesive film with some of the most titillating visuals and camera work of the early sound era. But unfortunately, star Carlos Villarias was no Bella Lugosi: although worthy of his performance was more subtle than Lugosi’s, it was also less intimidating, and where today Lugosi seems mannered, Villarias seems unfortunately funny. In a perfect world, we would be able to insert the Lugosi performance into the “Spanish” Dracula. As it is, we are left with two deeply flawed but nonetheless inspiring films.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Dracula! Click Here

In their beget ways, both films proved incredibly influential, and it is difficult to imagine the evolution of the classic-style anxiety film without reference to both the Lugosi and the “Spanish” DRACULA. The Lugosi film is not perfectly restored, but the print is very, very superb, easily the best I have seen. The “Spanish” DRACULA has more problematic elements, partly due the fact that the film borrowed some scenic footage from the Lugosi version and snips of footage from earlier films (there even appears to be a brief clip of the ballet from the restful PHANTOM OF THE OPERA in the film) ; the film is sometimes sad, sometimes very spotted, but short of a cgi restoration this is probably as favorable as it gets.

The Philip Glass soundtrack, which is optional, tends to divide viewers. The Lugosi DRACULA had virtually nothing in the diagram of soundtrack; the “Spanish” DRACULA traditional music to a greater degree, but even so that degree is comparative. The Glass secure is often quite racy, but it is also as often intrusive as it is effective. Some feel it adds quite a bit to the film; others derive it distracts. Whatever one’s reaction to the film, either English or Spanish language, or with or without the Glass catch, this is a powerful DVD package, and fans of classic anxiety will come by it an almost inexhaustible pleasure. I cannot recommend it too strongly.

Firstly I must say that even though the arrive they consume is very different I really care for and be pleased BOTH versions of “Cleopatra”. It seems to be inevitable that the two are endlessly compared as to their general worth but in reality they are very different while essentially telling the same myth.

I found Claudette Colbert to be an respectable Cleopatra and while she is most renowned for portraying sophisticated unique women in “Cleopatra” and her other tale production from that time, “The Tag of the Execrable” she captures beautifully the feel of that far off time in history. Claudette was an extremely gracious actress equally adept at performing in comedy, drama and spectacle. Here she has a role of a lifetime and it is one of the roles she is justly remembered most for.

Contrary to what a lot of reviewers always position I derive Cecil B DeMille’s work astounding to eye. I guess being a history buff I honest admire the times most of his productions are state in.I assume that a large deal of view and care has gone into all his productions…no more certain than in his 1934 version of “Cleopatra”

The film positvely glows with one exotic scene after another. Cleopatra’s seduction of Marc Antony on her barge has to be seen to be believed!! Surely the queen’s exact barge was never so lavish!! Her entry into Rome as section of Ceasar’s entourage while well done can’t possibly compare to the incredibly lavish entry scene in Elizabeth Taylor’s version unfortunately.

As a history expend it stays terminate to what steady history says happened but never once does the entertainment let up. The settings, costumnes, music passe are pure DeMille and are thus a contemplate for the inspect. I feel that Claudette also has tried to inject more of a human element into her characterisation displaying frustration and horror of things that might occur and tiredness at the burden she must carry as one Queen up against the whole Roman Empire. When she exclaims “It’s always Egypt!” meaning it is her resposibilities always ahead of her believe needs she displays a broad human side to a impressive character.

I can’t fault this production and it serene holds up today as impressive entertainment. I never tire of the legend of the Queen of the Nile and all the intrigues of her court. And the costumns and sets earn the film well worth viewing for that alone.

Not a really mammoth history lesson but terrific entertainment as it was intended. They dont design films like this one nowadays mores the pity!!!.

After reading the reviews left by other AMAZON folk, I must admit that I am gay to (composed) be able to conception a cinematic work, using the frame of reference of its (bear) time rather than that of the twenty-first century… even though this monument remains thoroughly watch-able today. I regard this film as neither Kamp(sic) nor Kitsch.

To me, whenever a film, of any era, comes finish to “opera”, I am won-over… completely; I utilize “opera” in the sense of spectacle transcending its storyline to become something larger than itself… and this film soars.

Although of a film acting-tradition “of the astronomical gesture”, most of the performances are thoroughly winning… and Henry Wilcoxen is simply Graceful as Marc Antony… in all senses of that word. Miss Colbert equally triumphs as the young queen, wise beyond her years… “pulling-out all the stops” to score her residence as ruler of Egypt.

As another reviewer attests… that “royal barge” seduction scene, in which Cleopatra secures the devotion of Marc Antony is truly breathtaking… the most glorious… and effortless “abduction” ever; the dreadful beguiled Roman wakes-up in Eqypt! This one, single, magically-crafted scene, on its occupy, warrants seeing this film.

As movie viewers, portion of the experience must be acceptance and self-surrender. We must not impose our personal twenty-first century sophistication upon what we are viewing. Instead, we must get any film on its believe terms, belief the era in which it was conceived, so worthy as we might be able. To do otherwise will almost invariably diminish the cinematic experience; we must allow a film to “wash over” us. In defense of C.B.deMille, I must cite that so many of the scenes… scenes of “huge-ness”, were conveyed with splendid efficiency by positioning… or “immersing” the camera in such a map as to engage the “intimacy” of that particular scene… even those scenes of battle… and that is something both practical and artistic… and very original. It would very difficult to realistically buy the vastness of Egypt in any other way; the camera plunges us into the scene, as if the scene were unfolding around us.

I possess this movie, and every so often, I indulge all over again, so if you have never seen this film, I benefit you to do so; like so many others, I am definite that you, too, will pick up yourself recalling the magic of this sizable movie, long after its viewing. Like!!!

Horse Crazy a savory account of two 8 year musty boys and a 7 year old-fashioned girl who sneak a move in a car to Nevada to lasso themselves three wild mustangs and dash them home. They experience lessons of honestly, over coming fears, teamwork, and friendship that will lope them for a life time. Even the older brother (maybe 20’sh) learns how special and significant his brother and sister are and a minute about himself. I don’t mediate you have to have miniature children left in the house to steal this movie. My children are grown and I mild bought it. I laughted, almost cried with delight and even found myself sitting on the edge of my seat as the kids undergone some of their adventures. Choose IT! I have watched it over and over again and savor it even more each time I concept it.

I tried to rate it 5 stars but it wouldn’t let me rate it. Astronomical gift for children who already know the dissimilarity between moral and sinful.

Nina has a tendency to hasten away from her heart. However she finds a challenge to pause in her home town in cook-off to build the family restaurant. It seems she has another challenge-facing her family and telling them what’s really in her heart. Miniature does she know that they have already figured it out because electricity between Lisa and Nina leaves not doubt where Nina’s heart lays. The intensity between Nina and Lisa is believable and the chronicle is lighthearted and fun. I’m obvious you’ll get that you will want this film in your collection, too.

Being a spacious collector of movies, I was impressed with this movie. Although I do not manufacture a habit of purchasing movies unless I’ve seen them prior, I took a chance on this one and was joyful I did. Sweet sage line, I understanding it did a sizable job in portraying a culture who is typically hush concerning matters of homosexuality with respect as well as open-mindedness. I enjoyed the music and spot and would definitely recommend this to others. Thank you! :)

While various MST3K episodes have circulated over the internet and from companies like Rhino, the MST3K movie has long since disappeared from DVD shelves. Now, rather than rent a copy from Netflix and then “lose” it so you can retain one (or pay extravagant prices on Ebay), Universal has rereleased this big film to the delight of fans everywhere.

So what makes this different from any normal episode? Well, first of all it’s site between the sixth and seventh seasons (proper after the departure of TV’s Frank and before Pearl joins as a regular), so Doctor F has the poor guy side all to himself. Fortunately, Mark is more than generous of making his every moment on hide a blast (there’s even a comical “mini-origin” monologue that starts the film off to gain everyone up to rush) . The plot is finally expanded here and we acquire to sight more of the ship finally. But, strangely enough, this is actually SHORTER than any of the episodes you stare on television. This was done because the studio was horrified people who weren’t familiar with the reveal would procure bored in the theater–but of course, why would they go survey it if they weren’t familiar with the explain in the first site?

The movie they resolve to riff is “This Island Earth”, which I always opinion wasn’t such a unpleasant film anyway. However, Mike and the Bots do manage to squeeze in some astronomical lines throughout. Definitely worth the time!

One puny warning: they do consume a few more shining words here than they did on television. Not often by any means, but they sneak a couple in here and there.

I’m so ecstatic we’re finally seeing this gem return to DVD! Don’t know what brought it on, but thank you!

The well-liked TV present that revolves around a man and his two robots heckling injurious movies in spot has found its blueprint on film (very hard to glean, but it’s there!) . “Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie” gives you the rare opportunity of enjoying a dreadful movie as Mike and the robots are there to encourage you through it with their wisecracking and flawless delivery. It’s upright that anyone can heckle a terrible movie… but very few can do it as reliable as these guys can.

The exasperated and gross scientist, Dr. Clayton Forrester, has created an snide shrimp method that is lag to give him world domination… but first thing’s first. He plans to torment Mike Nelson and the robots by sending them a loyal stinker of a film to see called, “This Island Earth.” He is convinced that this movie will drive them insane. And since the guys cannot control when the movie begins or ends, they are forced to look the honest awe that is this poor movie that has a lobster creature dressed in slacks. Will this be the ultimate cheese that breaks the boys’ spirits? You’ll bag out once you inaugurate this hilarious movie.

The movie isn’t all that different from the regular demonstrate, which is a major plus. Clear, there is a petite bit of a situation going on that concerns Dr. Forrester’s view for global domination, but there’s always a side narrative like that going on in each of the episodes. The movie may behold a cramped more professional than the present, but that’s the only contrast. We smooth eye the three silhouettes wisecrack and mock their diagram through the dreadful movie. Their delivery is always constant and just on target. In fact, you’re run to get something unusual that you didn’t pick up the first time around when you peep it again. “This Island Earth” was a grand choice for the movie, although they have been through powerful worse than this (peer the episodes “Dwelling Mutiny” or “Manos: Hands of Fate,” and you’ll contemplate what I’m saying) . The DVD has no extras whatsoever. Not only that, but it is EXTREMELY hard to derive these days, so sterling luck trying to collect it (it’s out there somewhere) .

“Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie” doesn’t disappoint in any procedure. It’s always comical, always unique and always clever. Fans of the indicate will most likely admire the movie. It can even be enjoyed by those who are experiencing MST3K for the very first time. If you’re lucky enough to stumble upon this diminutive gem, then I highly recommend checking it out. And remember kids, these guys are professionals; do NOT attempt this at home! -Michael Crane

I’ve only watched some of it, but it is fun. Even though alot of the commercials were originally aired during my lifetime, I am not outmoded enough to remember most of them. It gives me the same feeling of “borrowed nostalgia” I fetch from watching a series like Angry Men.
