First I have to say I admire X-Men the movie, and this is a huge dvd. But I cannot give it the five stars I would like to (or that I gave the first X-Men dvd) because I feel that they have cheated the fans. Distinguished like the funny books themselves, they’ve devised a device to remove more money from the fans. Why wasn’t all these extras on the modern dvd? Even Bryan Singer himself says in the introduction to the dvd that he hates to do it, and that he hopes a group of people are sitting around watching the 1 dvd they bought (then why did you do it Bryan? whay didn’t you unprejudiced establish all this pleasant stuff on the fresh dvd? )

First of all, the menus aren’t as frigid as the new dvd. Sort of cheesy in fact. Now, both the unusual and 1.5 approach in slipcover cases, but the current has a nice earn, with a metallic type sheen to it–very x-meny. 1.5 has noteworthy less of the sheen, evil red letters, and instead of a itsy-bitsy tasteful conceal art, a mammoth report of Wolverine, flanked by Mystique and Storm. It looks all upright, if you haven’t seen the unusual breeze case fabricate. And inside is almost well-behaved. it has a nice red and dismal gain (not the extreme read of the outer screen, but a more tasteful and subdued red), and only loses it when you examine a cast lineup. From a execute perspective, 1.5 is definitely weaker.

Disc One

The X-Men movie is on this disc. I won’t go into a review of the movie, because I already did that in my review of X-Men. I will say that it is a substantial movie, Singer does a colossal job, and the casting is inspired. There is a commentary track on this dvd, something that was missng from the fresh. Singer does a spacious job talking about the film and the filmmaking process. I unprejudiced have to ask, why wasn’t this on the novel dvd? There is also an Enhanced Viewing Mode on this cd. It contains extended/deleted scenes, where they would have been placed in the film (also on the modern dvd) . The predicament is that you can’t go to them seperately, you can only access them in their location in the Enhanced Viewing Mode (a clear weakness, and not a jam on the recent dvd) . The Enhanced Viewing Mode also has 17 different gradual the scenes footage, at various locations in the film (these you also can only access through this mode and not in a seperate menu. a minus) .

Disc Two

Here is where Singer’s introduction and apology is located. “It’s not my nature to be putting out multiple dvds of a film” –then why Bryan, why did you do it? But the orchestra is nice (you’ll behold what I mean) . There are two menus here. One is X-Men 2, which has a Daredevil teaser (there’s a movie I won’t go study) and has an X-Men 2 sneak preview (I understand why this isn’t on the unique dvd, and it is a sizable addition, but not worth buying a whole current dvd) . The other menu is titled Evolution X. Under it you’ll acquire all sorts of goodies, which can all be played in sequence, or accessed one at a time (which I recommend), and there is branching her as well, but I’m not positive if you have to go at it all together or not, but I suspect you can only regain it if you settle the ‘Play All With Branching’ option, which really isn’t such a awful scheme to go. There’s a ‘Production Documentary Scrapbook’ where you can glimpse the divulge sequence from all different camera angles, and without the post-production and multi-angle fight rehearsals. ‘X-Factor’ which contains costume tests, toad’s makeup test, and an image gallery. ‘The Uncanny Suspects’ (my that’s witty) which has a character gallery and Hugh Jackman’s first reading and camouflage test. ‘Special Effects of the X-Men’ contains all sorts of effects featurettes and extras. ‘Marketing the X-Men’ which has trailers, tv spots, and internet spots. And finally ‘Reflection of the X-Men” which has footage from the Ellis Island Premier and premier’s around the world. And don’t forget all the xtras found in the branching option. Overall you do gather a lot of worthy stuff that you won’t obtain on the unusual dvd. But what you will rep on the unique dvd that you won’t accept on 1.5 is the easter egg Spider-Man gag, which is colossal (but you will gather something similar where a Wolverine appears in the fresh yellow costume), nor will you catch the Fox Special “The Mutant Study”, which isn’t esential to the film (actually, it doesn’t fit expansive continuity-wise), but it is enthralling, and should be on the 1.5.

Now, should you retract X-Men 1.5? I did, but that’s because I’m a astronomical fan of the X-Men (in film, cartoon, comics, toys, and fiction), and the broad X-Fans will raze up doing this. Also, I’m a student of film theory and criticism, and this dvd has things I couldn’t pass up. But if you have the new dvd, then I’d either rent 1.5 or borrow it from a friend. If you don’t have either, I’d say go ahead and rob up 1.5 (borrow the new dvd from a friend, you’ve got to recognize the Spider-Man gag) . 1.5 does give you the better value, it’s fair that this stuff should have been on the new dvd. Instead, in the titanic Marvel tradition, we screw the correct fans.

It’s a shame we had to wait until summer was half over to secure to the Precise blockbuster. This is easily the most spicy movie of the summer season (with Gladiator being the BEST, but best & most inspiring can be different things) . It’s fun, it’s action packed (remove that MI:2) and the performances are all on point. Hugh Jackman delivers as Wolverine, he’s blooming. We all know what Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellan are righteous of. The other performances are perfect as well.

Buy,Download, Or Stream X-Men! Click Here

I’m a fan of the funny book, which to some may perform it seem like I’m biased, but quite the contrary. That fair means I’m more likely to disfavor a movie if it unbiased takes whatever creative liberties it wants with pre-established characters and storylines (as powerful as I care for Batman, it unexcited urks me that everyone now thinks that the Joker killed Bruce Wayne’s parents) . Thankfully, X Men holds fair to characters and storyline touches. Even small things like Mystique’s manipulation of Rogue are handled subtley. They obviously can’t go into the depth of 30 years of continuity provided in the Marvel comics, but they do a MARVEL-(pun intended) -ous job at putting what they can into an hour and a half of hide time.

It’s amusing, it’s tense, it’s involving, it’s serious, it’s not campy or absurd. It’s unprejudiced awesome, and I WILL be buying this the dinky it hits video stores.

I have been renting the Murky Shadows beginning DVD collections from Netflix and collection 6 is the first time we gape Barnabas Collins, the vampire. It’s also the first situation to be in color. I have read that Collection 16 is the best so I have that one on my wish list to pick. The others I will continue to rent because I dont have room to store all these DVDs. If you do there is a gigantic special of the entire collection for only $200. Check for it on Amazon. Like everyone else I first saw a glimps of this present when I was 12. I honest recalled the series lately and looked it up. I am enjoying it very great. I am from Maine and the references to Bangor and the coastal areas seem familiar to me, As do the characters. Even 30 years later, The storyline serene seems unusual and not forced. I guess that’s why it’s aloof around.

I was only 11 years mature when Unlit Shadows went off the air. I was unruffled a large fan. When PBS started broadcasting episodes during the 1980’s, I was bent all over again! For anyone who saw the unusual and enjoyed it, the DVD’s are first-rate. The quality is astonishing and the interviews are priceless. Reintroduce yourself to a part of nostalgia.

As my title says, this is a incredible series! A normal high school student named Sho Fukamachi comes into contact with an living cybersuit called the Guyver. The Guyver is basically a living creature that merges with humans and gives them wonderful superpowers. Sho has this thing on his shoulders that opens a dimensional portal that the Guyver comes through, then the Guyver wraps itself around Sho’s body (However, we don’t learn that the Guyver comes from another dimension until later in the series.) . However, there is the outrageous Kronos corporation that created the Guyver, along with 2 other Guyver suits. The Kronos corporation wants all the Guyver suits succor, and they’ll destroy anyone who tries to gain in their intention! The Kronos corporation experiments with people and turns them into obnoxious monsters called Zoanoids which they employ as soldiers. Fortunately, the Guyver has amazing weaponry that Sho uses to fight the Kronos coporation. One of these weapons is the Mega-smasher, the Guyver’s most worthy weapon. Sho grabs ahold of two chubby panels on the Guyver’s pectorals, and pulls them originate to insist two remarkable lasers which can ruin anything. The Guyver can also obtain incredibly fascinating blades reach out of each of it’s elbows. With weapons like these, the Kronos corporation had better look out!

Well, actually fair one thing: Manga Video. Manga Video is to Anime what Obvious Channel is to Radio. That may not sound entirely handsome considering that Manga Video is responsible for bringing us Ghost in the Shell, Perfect Blue, the Patlabor Movies, and now Magic Knight Rayearth (on one disc!), but they are not without their abominable decisions and poor calls. Yoshiki Takaya’s Bio-Booster Armour Guyver epitomizes this.

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Guyver – Bio-Booster Armor, Vol. 2! Click Here

Originally, the episodes were available in six VHS volumes with two episodes each (at about twenty to thirty dollars a pop) with novel opening and closing credits and music. They were released through U.S.Renditions and L.A.Hero. Later, Manga Video revived the series by releasing each episode on its have videotape (called “datas” and for about twelve to fifteen dollars a pop) which seemed fair economical (especially if you were picky about your current episodes) until you actually watched the tapes and found out that Manga video had changed the opening and closing credit music with “Guyver Rock!” If that does not originate you cringe, you are of a stronger will than I. Also, Manga decided to change some of the negate actors for the english track (namely the Zoanoid Data files and some of the zoanoids themselves) which should probably not bother anyone, but I deem it is peaceful worth pointing out.

The quality of the transfer is spot-on, which may not exactly be a generous thing. We collect to gape all of the poorly cleaned cels, all the sloppy camera moves, all the discolorations in skin-tones, and all the lousy english-text-boxes laid over the japanese credits. But dread not, you can survey and hear the unusual opening credits in the special features menu. Why Manga did not objective simply note the credits in their fresh format in the first location is beyond reasoning, so I have given up trying. My advice for watching: neither the english nor japanese audio tracks are particularly impressive, so impartial hit that still button, pop in your celebrated KMFDM album (or whatever you like) and let the images do what they do best.

The highlight of the disc, in my mind, apart from the archival quality of DVD over VHS (which should go without saying) is the complete collection of Zoanoid Data files. Reminiscent of the animation sequences of Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy (which is the ONLY time you will hear H2G2 and Guyver in the same context), these sequences are informative, imaginative, and give some big insight into character designs. Yoshiki Takaya did not simply way monsters and let them go to town on each other, he was trying to compose a universe. If only Guyver’s escapades into the world of audio/visual media did the source material justice.

Final Word: Four out of Five for presentation, Two out of Five for butchery. Average is Three. NOW, ON TO VOLUME 2 AND THE FINAL INJUSTICE!

I whisper I never saw Steve Martin replacing Spencer Tracey or Kimberly Williams replacing Elizabeth Taylor. The new film directed by Vincente Minnelli had charm and a number of improbable sequences in it but Charles Shyer’s film nicely updates the new film with some gut busting laughs for the ironic age. Shyer’s films have a number of nice touches and references to other films including Martin commenting (as Banks) that he doesn’t want to be bankrupt by the wedding and have to streak the streets in a bathrobe (a reference to Carl Reiner’s film “The Jerk” starring Martin) : Bank’s character is named after George Banks (David Tomlinson) from the Disney classic “Mary Poppins”; the Bank’s character’s middle name of Stanley is borrowed from the father in the Spencer Tracey recent and loads of other references to classic Hollywood films. This is the third turn for “Father of the Bride” (it was also a short lived TV series in 1960) and it’s detached appetizing although this 15th Anniversary Edition is a year premature (the film came out in 1991) .

Buy,Download, Or Stream Father of the Bride! Click Here

George Banks’ (Steve Martin) shrimp girl Annie (Kimberly Williams) is getting married. All of the mayhem that you can imagine in a Steve Martin PG comedy ensues. Kimberly is marrying her college sweetheart Bryan (George Newbern) . Banks doesn’t have a quandary with the thought of his daughter getting married but he does have an screech with his runt growing up because, well, it means he’s getting mature, too. With luscious comical turns by Martin Short (as the wedding coordinator) and Diane Keaton, “Father of the Bride” unlike most remakes manages to update the material and build it work for a recent audience without betraying the emotional core that drove the comedy in the current film.

This version of “Bride” gets the deluxe treatment i the 15th Anniversary Edition. I don’t know honestly if all of these featurettes and the commentary track were on the 2003 edition. I’d suspect they were and this is objective a re-release in fresh packaging. The previous edition released two years ago was a nice anamorphic transfer. The spirited image quality and mighty clarity evident here is a exiguous improvement over the new DVD release (although the previous version looked fine darn advantageous, too) . It appears that the same transfer was primitive for this version and the film was tweaked a bit for the latest release. The 5.1 soundtrack

Buy,Download, Or Stream Father of the Bride! Click Here

I seem to consume the extras here being the same as on the previous edition but that could honest be dismal memory on my fraction. Either diagram, “Martin & Short Interview Each Other” is an funny 5 tiny, bizarre tongue-in-cheek featurette where they skewer each other, the roles they play and everything else in ogle. At one point Short talks about how playing a woman liberated him in this film. He plays a man. We also obtain an 11 small standard “Making of” featurette on the film with some humorous behind-the-scenes takes on the film.

Director Charles Shyer’s commentary track is both informative and silly. Shyer discusses the challenges of directing a remake of a classic film. He notes that it’s a magnificent line bringing a contemporary tone to the film but not playing with it or improving it into “a failure”. It’s particularly challenging to sign that Shyer and Meyers both have a high regard for the modern film. Hence, the things that worked well in the unique (such as the opening monologue) are honest updated (and, according to Shyer it took 35 takes to shoot the opening because of a number of technical issues that kept occurring) . It’s a pity we don’t have Martin’s comments or, for that matter, other cast members since Shyer recorded the commentary track 13 years after the film’s novel release (and he hadn’t seen it since he finished working on it in 1991) .

You’re invited to a very comical wedding featuring amusing men Steve Martin and Martin Short with able aid from silly woman Diane Keaton. A scrumptious update of the 1950’s classic, “Father of the Bride” has a number of moments that ring factual for me from my experience with my sister. If you have the previous edition of the movie I don’t know that I can recommend upgrading but if you haven’t purchased until now, Buena Vista Home Video has priced this to proceed.

George Banks (Steve Martin) has honest heard the words every father dreads. His daughter Annie (Kimberly Williams) has impartial announced that she’s getting married to Bryan (George Newbern), a man she met while studying in Europe. While George’s wife Nina (Diane Keaton) is thrilled by the news, George doesn’t handle it well. After all, this means gargantuan changes happening in his life. And he doesn’t cope well with change.

So, naturally, he handles this the intention any dad would. He starts watching “America’s Most Wanted” in case Bryan is on it. And when it comes to planning the wedding, his concept is cheap and informal, mighty to the women’s awe. Will he ever fetch with the program? And if he does, will he survive the tall day?

This movie isn’t a laugh until it hurts comedy. There are plenty of laugh out loud parts, but the humor is often subtler. While some of George’s antics are definitely over the top and border on embarrassing, the movie manages to pick up the balance between embarrassment and humor. And the ending it truly touching.

And I can’t say enough about the acting. Everyone is believable. In fact, what makes the movie work is the fact that every one of the characters and actors seems absolutely actual. The exception, of course, are Franck and Howard, the over the top wedding coordinators played by Martin Short and B. D. Wong who absolutely rob every scene they are in.

Whether you’ve gone through a wedding or not, this movie will execute you laugh and touch you. And what more could you want from a wedding, and movie, then that?

This is (also) a review of the REMIX VERSIONS. I won’t go into the awesomeness of Cowboy Bebop other than to say that it is the best anime series ever, I’d even call it one of the best television shows ever!

Buy,Download, Or Stream Cowboy Bebop Remix, Volume 1! Click Here

While it has been universally eminent on various postings about the remix versions that the sound is significantly better than the new sessions, there are multiple varying reviews on the Recount QUALITY. Some say there is no incompatibility at all, some say it’s a bit better, some say it’s a lot better, all say they have “checked” both versions. Well, I took it a step further. I watched both versions side by side on an Avid Nitris Professional video editing system with high definition high resolution (HDHR) monitors and here is the DEFINITIVE Acknowledge. There is a contrast, they lightened it and did a very petite color correction. Basically, the former versions were a bit dim and some of the detail went unnoticed while the remix versions are lighter and there is more visible detail and color. In terms of viewing expeirience this means that a majority of the scenes examine noticibly (if marginally) better. There are clear scenes, however, where the lightness works against it. Some of the more noirish scenes behold a bit bleedy. Overall I would say that there is a disagreement in video quality and that the contrast is mostly an improvement. But, even to the die hard fan the inequity is negligible.

If you don’t hold the originals, if they’re scratched, if you’re a vast fan, if you have an awesome theatre system with profitable surround, or if you have a crappy cramped tv and can’t peer the detail in the image, Accept THE REMIX. If not, while they are chilly, they’re not worth the $30 a pop.

1st off, why do 100 people post that haven’t bought the remix copy objective to say that bebop rules? It makes looking for comments about the remix copy expressionless. We all know bebop rules; but IS IT BETTER THAN GETTING THE SESSION 1 DVD???

Buy,Download, Or Stream Cowboy Bebop Remix, Volume 1! Click Here

I would have to say no. Before I give my reasons, I’d like to point out that I do not have an expensive sound system so the updated sound is lost on me. BUT…

- I view that they remastered the anime itself, and they did not. It looks the same as the recent sessions (that was the reason for MY hold) .

-They did throw in a few extras that weren’t in the unusual(some commentaries), but hardly worth a seize.

-They redid the packaging and it looks like a speedily relayout from the frail art. I liked the fresh packaging better. It had the character info on the relieve, and the dvd was made to inspect like a narrate. the fresh dvd unbiased mimics the shroud art.

-They didn’t even bother to include a booklet/paper of any kind inside.

-Many animes(Rahxephon, Noir) have been released in boxsets, or on a signature series (Trigun, Lain) that are cheaper to give the people that can’t shell out $30 a dvd a chance to collect it. You have to wait a diminutive while, and it doesn’t usually have some of the goodies that the novel had; but the money has already been made. Of course they are releasing this “remix” of bebop (which has been out for a apt 7 years or so) for the burly $30.

Basically in my conception, if you are going to go through the difficulty to re-release it, AND charge tubby price; GO ALL THE Procedure!!! (Like the Calvin and Hobbes Collection coming out.) If you are going to charge $30 for a 1998 anime; build it worth my 30.(But it’s not about the money; it’s for the fans) (sarcasm) .

Once again Bandai delivers the goods with their latest Gundam DVD release. Satisfactory subtitling, crisp and rich characterize quality that doesn’t suffer from awful compression/artifacts and a nice looking DVD mask…Why doesn’t everyone release their anime with this level of excellence? Who knows…

This OVA(Novel Video Animation) fits in between the modern MS Gundam(0079-0080) and Z Gundam(0087) series. It was one of the first series in the Gundam universe to not involve Current types and focus on the scream observe thought of MS battle. The chronicle is hard military set opera…young soldiers caught in the aftermath of the 1 year war are forced to grow up snappily while the world around them falls apart and all their illusions of duty and glory are shattered.

The animation is great. With rich colors, reminiscent of many Toei productions in the early/mid 80’s, and highly detailed robots screaming through residence…many believe 0083 to be the best spicy Gundam of all time….

I would recommend all the discs of this series. This is the kind of work that has attracted me to anime as far aid as the 70s.

About the only thing I could ask for would be slightly nicer menus. They are attractive generic…but that’s really my only “gripe”.

0083 is my well-liked gundam series and its one of the most successful animes’ in the 80’s. The yarn, animation, sound effects and the music is excellently done well. The yarn is very despressing and shadowy to contemplate. This series on dvd is definatly worth to assume and its uncut.

Haunted by an incident that happened in the ring, American boxer Sean Thornton (John Wayne) returns to his Irish birthplace, seeking only his roots and a unruffled, mild life.

He soon falls in esteem with the sparkling, tempestuous Mary Kate (Maureen O’Hara) . She is equally taken with him, but won’t marry without the consent of her stubborn, blustering brother, Will (Victor McLaglen), who disapproves the match.

With the serve of a well-intentioned map arranged by their friends, Mary Kate gets her brother’s permission and Sean and she wed. Relationships spoil soon after, however, when Will refuses to pay the rightful dowry. Sean doesn’t care, but Mary Kate is outraged and wants Sean to have it out with Will.

Time and again Sean backs down – definite not to spend his fists – his inner tension building the whole while. But eventually he will have to determine between losing his wife’s treasure and respect and facing his greatest terror.

This was an vital and personal project for John Ford (whose right name was Sean O’Feeney) . That his heart and those of his cast members were in what they were doing shows through. The fact that worthy of the film was shot on site in Ireland (on residence shoots were somewhat modern at the time) also adds an authentic flavor.

Barry Fitzgerald was at his comedic best here, and Ward Bond’s performance as a priest has several simply unforgettable moments.

The Still Man is a charming classic and among Ford’s best (in fact, it won him an Oscar for Best Director) . It’s comical, romantic, and always enthralling. It also features an exuberant come by (courtesy of Victor Young) and one of the longest and most memorable knock-down, drag-out fights ever committed to film.

-DVD-

Two different editions of this DVD have been released with almost

identical packaging. Be careful which one you prefer! (I wish I’d known this) .

“John Wayne Collection” edition (*1 star)

This is the one I bought (ISBN 0-7820-1057-1, ASIN: B00000I1KV) . It has “John Wayne Collection” printed on a green band at the top. Its special features include “The Making of the Mild Man” documentary & the theatrical trailer. DON’T Retract THIS VERSION, PLEASE. The sound is decent, but the record is absolutely terrible: blurry and chubby of splotches, almost unwatchable.

“Collector’s Edition”

Apparently, the sound and describe quality are okay on the “Collector’s Edition” DVD (ASIN: B00006JMRD), whose special features include Commentary by Maureen O’Hara, the theatrical trailer, “The Joy of Ireland” documentary with Maureen O’Hara, “Remembering The Detached Man” Montage, and “The Making of The Detached Man.”

I will not, as some feel indispensable, go over the story/characters/performances of this film. Suffice to say, this is one the most luscious films ever made, blarney or not.

Rather, what I would like to briefly comment on is the utterly pathetic transfer of this classic film to DVD. It states quite clearly on the support of the camouflage that this film has been digitally remastered. I took that to mean both video and audio. Despicable. The recount quality of this DVD is terrifying, one of the worst I have ever seen. Occupy me when I say this — the VHS version I purchased in 1991 has a better video clarity than this. At times it’s actually difficult to manufacture out the actors features. The company unhurried this, ARTISAN I gain they are called, should be ashamed. I have a copy of the recently released and remastered CASABLANCA DVD. That film was made in 1942, yet it looks as if it was honest made, such is the sharpness of the video. The Still Man deserved the same treatment, but didn’t score it. Shame on ARTISAN.

THE ANALYSIS:

Like in the Speed Hour series, all the charm and chemistry between Chan and his buddy (in this case Wilson) is preserved. The pair work and play off one another well and it shines through. Wilson’s hilarious, laid serve delivery style again steals the note and even though he is aging Chan Quiet delivers the goods action wise with his trademarked innovative, highly choreographed and extraordinary fight scenes.

Like in other “franchises” of unhurried, this particular sequel does borrow and recycle bits from the first installment but does so without making the bits “outmoded” or REALLY feel borrowed. Most valuable of the borrowing is the “homage” to history with character name revelations (one REALLY distinct), one not-so-obvious. The other bits of course center around Roy and his usual want for women and the “irregular couple” chemistry between Roy and Chon.

BEST SCENES:

- Rescuing Roy from positive death by water

- Sheep scene

- New York hotel fight scene

- Street battle

- Secret room battle

- The Extinguish of Credit Bloopers

THE VERDICT:

Overall, fans of the first movie, and Jackie fans in general, will be joyful with this second outing. All the charm you demand from a Chan buddy comedy is serene here and the action is as solid as ever. In all you score all the goods you recognize for in an action-comedy: kick ass fight scenes (the street fight with the umbrella was particularly sweet), solid humor (most of the bits are delicate darn humorous) and a glowing nice narrative of two friends (you can almost feel for Roy when Jackie tells Lin about Roy’s “goods.”) .

In all, this movie came up impartial at the legal time for this time of year considering all the problems going around now. It was the perfect two hour diversion from all the modern troubles of the world. Hopefully they’ll be another sequel, or we’ll objective have to wait for Urge Hour 3.

Highly Recommended

I am a Broad fan of action films (Lord Of The Rings, Star Wars, Rocky etc.) And I Adore comedies(Impartial Married, Riding In Cars With Boys, Bubble Boy etc.) The first time I saw an Owen Wilson was in ANOTHER Jackie Chan film (Around The World In 80 Days, sorry..I’m a MR fan also, er…) But I belief the Wilson brothers were awesomely humorous as the Wright Bros. in it…So, within a couple months I was able to face “Shanghai Knights” despite the unpleasant reviews. What caught my witness first was the men in this film, the HOT men in this film. Like Owen Wilson ( cute smile), Aidan Gillian (cute everything), & of course, Tom Fisher (He’s soooo innocent) . The next thing I loved was the the action, this movie has really AWESOME battle scenes (The battle in London Streets & the swordfight between Chon Wang & Lord Nelson Rathbone) . Okay…If you haven’t figured out that I’m a girl by now, then your crazy. The next thing I loved was the tender friendship (and I know people are going to say I’m crazy) between Roy & Artie (Okay, fair laugh!) But it’s honest! The final thing that I liked (like every girl fan watching this film) is the romance between Chon’s microscopic sister Ling & Roy (awww…L’moure) . There is also some very instresting scenes in this film that stand out (namely the scene where the orphan boy reveals himself as a young Charlie Chaplin) . The bloopers at the demolish of this movie are realllly droll (Did you eye Owen’s face when he dropped the sword? Ha-ha!)! All I am saying is that this movie is capable historically, emotionally, comically & romantically. Unbiased topple in & rent this movie (for Owen’s sake…? )

It’s not so grand the scenes of horrific violence in themselves that do one wince here (after all, presumably one has signed on for a hardcore violent thriller when ponying up to rent or occupy this contaminated title), but it’s the frequent juxtaposition of disturbing violence with slapstick comedy that is the really unsettling thing. It’s really unfamiliar, for example, to search for a violent rape & assault immediately followed by a scene of two cops having to hitch a bound on a chicken truck, and (as if that weren’t enough) a few seconds later explore the cops plunge off the truck when it stops too quickly. Very curious. Also, the bewitching among you should be aware that this film isn’t nearly as polished or professional looking as the slick box art might lead you to absorb. In other words, if you have no tolerance or appreciation for on-the-fly, low-budget guerilla film-making, avoid this at all costs. I DO have a positive affection for this type of film-making, and even I said “whoa, what were they thinking?? ” and “Wow, that’s really cheap looking (or sounding) ” several times during the course of this. Ultimately, however, I have to say that the movie is worth a see, but it’s probably worth a gawk more because it’s an spellbinding bit of movie history than because it’s actually a satisfactory movie.

THE LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT is Wes Craven’s startling debut as a no holds barred panic director. Unflinching in its depiction of torture, rape, and humiliation it can collected beget audiences gasp almost thirty years after its initial release. This yarn of two young girls on their device to a concert and their misfortunate race in with four perilous fugitives is well-known viewing for any fan of the Terror genre. What really apprehensive me in this film is the intention the four villains had so powerful fun in demeaning and then killing the two girls. And how very conclude befriend was… Exiguous Craven-esque quirks tended to pop up (such as a sudden shift from indecent violence to a scene of almost slapstick humor) that will remind viewers of the Elm Street and Shout series. As well as one of the killers names being “Krug” add an “er” and well, you figure it out. Withhold a view out for the mother’s scene of revenge down by the lake, that alone is worth the imprint of admission. Truly deserving of “cult” set!

“Spacious” offers a mix of experiences. From the opening credit where the title is in a exiguous font, one knows that this is a film that throws curve balls. One never quite knows what to interrogate. Paul Dano who was so kindly in “Dinky Miss Sunshine” and “There Will Be Blood” also produced. He turns in a subtle performance as Brian Weathersby who sells mattresses and works to gather his life-long dream of becoming an adoptive parent to a Chinese child. A complication arises as he meets Harriet “Tickled” Lolly played by Zooey Deschanel. Shopping for a mattress, she falls asleep on the bed. From there a friendship and novel romance develops. Ed Asner has a nice cameo as Brian’s father. Jane Alexander turns in an kindly cameo performance as Brian’s mother. John Goodman is blustery and eccentric as Harriet’s father. The performances are all first rate. Bask In!

What a huge puny film. An irrational “appreciate” myth filled with the single most dysfunctional group of dorks I have ever enjoyed watching. Two obscure performances from Ed Asner and the soundless Zach Galifianakis underscore the boldest roles for Zooey and Paul Dano I have seen outside of their mainstream stuff.

It is difficult to account for as I found it hard to classify this a comedy, but the laugh out loud moments of obedient writing were numerous and placed objective good. The legend follows two young lovers as they traverse their “jobs”, un-describable families, and each of their respective dysfunctions. Along the arrangement we are subjected to Galifianakis’ homeless stalker, Ed Asner’s bizarre dad insight, and a Japanese spa scene that if described, would not allow this review to rep posted (do not remember seeing anything like that on film before) .

The filming is new, the 5.1 is decent and portray quality is excellent. The special features are sparse but fill one of the most relevant deleted/alternate scenes I have watched in some time. Had they edited that 30 second clip into the film (the alternate scene clip), it would have changed the entire premise. The stills gallery is forgettable and a trailer is included. Would have preferred to explore more about the brains tedious this and maybe a featurette, but the film is an fascinating fragment on its gain. It says R for language, sexual allege and violence, but nudity should be in there also for the Zooey/pool scene, albeit from a distance.
