Sadley there will be no audio commentary from matt and trey. But please dont blame them blame waner bros if they fair kept the season one commetary on the dvd they wouldent be in this mess

The second season opens with Matt and Trey explaining why they ran “Terrance and Phillip in Not without my Anus” on April Fools day rather then the conclusion to the episode about who is Cartman’s father.

The second disk seemed to have some editing problems. The sound for Matt and Trey’s opening was obscene and yet the shows had a normal sound level. Be careful or you will fetch blasted.

Overall I liked all episodes.

Terrance and Phillip in not without my Anus: Scot the Canadian Prosecutor tries to frame Terrance for abolish in order to eliminate the duo. He fails and later gets a call from Saddam who offers to attend rep rid of them. Terrance and Phillip will head to Iraq to rescue Terrance’s illegitimate daughter (Celine Dion is the mother) and Saddam will depart to Canada. Saddam speedily takes over Canada and its up to Terrance and Phillip to put Canada.

Carman’s Mom is unruffled a dirty slut: Matt and Trey inaugurate this episode. They are helping the elderly in a rest home. Mephesto is shot before he can disclose the father of Cartman. They accelerate him to the Hospital and people freak out about the killer. America’s most wanted appears and offers to benefit. The boys and Chef are snowbound in the hospital and offer to befriend out. The people at the America’s Most Wanted Studios are snowbound as well and have to occupy grievous measures to quit alive! In the raze we learn the identity of Cartman’s father.

Chickenlover: Matt and Trey begin this one as well. We find a Cops type episode intelligent Barbrady. Somebody is having sex with chickens and we soon learn Barbrady can’t read. He has to leave the force and South Park falls into anarchy. The mayor even comments that he actually kept the peace in town. The boys offer to support out and Cartman takes over patrolling the streets teaching people to “respect my auhoratay!”

Ike’s Wee Wee: Matt and Trey initiate this one as well. Mr. Mackey gives a substance abuse talk to class. He uses Marijuana as an example and it disappears. He gets fired for being an idiot. Soon his world falls apart and starts drinking and taking drugs. Kyle invites the boys over to Ike’s brisk. To his anxiety he fleet learns what that means and decides he has to achieve Ike’s “fireman” After saving him, Kyle learns a secret about Ike.

Conjoined fetus lady: Matt and Trey originate this one as well. The boys have PE with Chef. The game of the day? Dodge ball. The boys define it to Pip and he turns out to be a natural. During the game Kyle gets wound and has to explore the nurse. The rumor is the fact that kids never return. Kyle learns she has a disease called “conjoined twin dyslexia” which means she has a boring fetus attached to her head. The town decides to have an awareness week for her. While this goes on the boys go on to be national champions of dodge ball and head off by bus to China for the world games.

The Mexican staring frog of southern Sri Lanka: Matt and Trey initiate this one as well. The boys have to write a paper about Viet Nam. They go talk to Jimbo and Ned who issue them tails of Merry-go-rounds, log rides and single handedly destroying the Viet Cong Army. Mr. Garrison sends the class to detention as a result. The boys then settle to design Ned and Jimbo peep like idiots by sending them footage of the Mexican staring frog. A side narrative involves the falling ratings of Jesus and Pals. Jimbo and Ned’s hunting display is killing the reveal.

City on the edge of forever: Matt and Trey initiate with a cooking exhibit entertaining bacon. This was a laughable episode animated flashbacks with twists. It starts when the bus gets into an accident. Mrs. Crabtree goes to find serve and leaves the children on the bus which is hanging on the edge of a cliff. I liked the Star Scramble reference. Mrs. Crabtree finds adore and her dream; stand up comedy. While the kids are missing, the parents bear “we are the world” type concert to try and catch the kids to advance befriend from having speed away.

Summer Sucks: Matt and Trey inaugurate again. School closes for the summer and Mr. Hat goes missing. Mr. Garrison flips out. The 4th of July celebration gets a setback as fireworks are outlawed. Ned and Jimbo head to Mexico to salvage fireworks but are caught since Jimbo can’t lie. To achieve the 4th, the mayor decides to celebrate by lighting the biggest snake ever made. Cartman takes swimming lessons and learns about the 1st graders do in the pool!

Chef’s Salty Chocolate Balls: Matt and Trey initiate again and this time the sound is ok. Robert Redford decides to go the Sundance Film Festival to South Park! Chef sets up a booth to sell fudge cookies! “Life getting you down?, fudge it” The resulting health food eating crowds establish a huge strain on the sewer system which makes everybody’s well-liked talking poo sick. Kyle tries to appeal to the crowds to set aside his friends life.

Chickenpox: Matt and Trey start again and sound is ok. Shelly catches Chickenpox and the parents settle to intientially bag their children infected since you have a harder time if you score Chickenpox when you are older. The boys win revenge by having a streetwalker named “Feeble Freda” succor them give their parents Herpes. Kenny’s dad and Kyle’s dad were once friends when they were kids. Kyle’s mom gets them assume an ill-fated fishing run.

Roger Ebert should lay off fatty foods: Matt and Trey originate again. Sound is ok. In a tribute to the outmoded Star Whisk episode “Dagger of the mind,” the boys go to the planetarium for a field scurry and rep programmed to fancy the planetarium. Cartman enters and wins a contest to be the Cheesy Poof jingle singer.

Clubhouses: Matt and Trey inaugurate again. Sound is ok. Bebe starts making her fade on Kyle. Stan and Kyle have a run to acquire a clubhouse so they can play truth or dare. Stan first has to design it and then he has to figure out how to play truth or dare. During this time, Stan’s parents split. Stan’s mom hooks up with Roy and Stan’s dad gets an earring and a quickly car. Maybe the magic of clubhouses will approach through. There is a comic bit gripping the passe Cosby reveal.

Cow Days: A couple wins a game reveal. Their prize? A poke to South Park for the celebration of Cow Days. The boys try and get a game by throwing a ball through Jennifer Love-Hewlett’s mouth. The game is rigged so the boys need more money. They come by Cartman to paddle a bull. In the middle of training, he gets damage and thinks he is a Vietnamese prostitute. During this time the cows see a monument of a cow that kind of looks like Buda with a clock in his stomach. They choose to execute a cult. In the waste, the boys issue shenanigans on the carnival people.

Chef Aid: Chef learns that a portray company stole a song called “stinky bridges” which he wrote 20 years ago. He asks for credit and gets sued by the recount company. Kyle gets his dad to defend him and the report company gets Johnny Cochrane. Things go down hill when the Chewbacca defense is aged. The boys choose to try and benefit him by setting up chef befriend. While this goes on somebody is attacking Mr. Twig.

SpookyFish: This episode involves scary vision! The boys rush into heinous Cartman from another dimension. Stan’s Aunt Dash appears and gives Stan a fish that might be killing people. Stan’s mother thinks Stan is killing people and starts hiding bodies and locks Barbrady in the basement. The boys settle they have to secure rid of the goldfish. Contemptible Stan and Kyle appear to claim their Cartman.

Merry Christmas Charlie Manson: The boys head off to spy Cartman’s grandmother in Nebraska. As the price says “You are now entering Nebraska; Sorry” They approach and enter a room stout of Cartman’s. During, their finish Cartman’s Uncle Howard escapes from Prison with his friend Charles Mansion.

Gnomes: The boys accept an assignment from Mr. Garrison. He is accused of not teaching the kids anything as such they must write something. He sets up 2 groups and the boys bag tweak. They meet tweaks family and learn that the Harbucks Corporation is going to build the family coffee shop out of business. After getting drinking coffee for the first time, tweak tells them a tale about underpants gnomes that occupy underpants. They wait up and earn out that they wasted time instead of writing the paper. Tweaks father saves the day writing a paper about Corporations destroying dinky businesses. The paper ends up starting a cause against corporate recall overs.

Prehistoric Ice man: The boys behold a man frozen in ice. Dr. Mephesto helps them and discovers he has been frozen since 1996. The boys fight over who owns Gorak. The government appears and wants the ice man as well. They hurry to find Gorak to Des Moines where everything is 3 years gradual!

When I heard time life was releasing these videos, I was so gay. However, when I got them, I realized that they were edited. They are completely different from the unique HBO series. All of the hip hop once played, has been replaced with elevator music. There is no contrivance anyone can critique these videos without viewing the modern series. I mediate it was slow on HBO’s fraction to sell the rights to time life. I guess it is all about what sells’ rather than authenticity. Do not but it if you were a accurate fan because you will be disappointed!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I decided to check this out because I had heard edifying things about it,and D.L. Hughley is one of my accepted comedians.(This is the genuine same reason why I checked out the Recent Kings Of Comedy.) I was blissful.This DVD contains 3 episodes of HBO’s groundbreaking comedy series,”Def Comedy Spot”.They each own 4 comedians.They are all hosted by Martin Lawrence.This is one of the reasons why I didn’t give this 5 stars.The first two shows on here are very comic,and the third one is OK.Two comedians on the third indicate aren’t silly.One of them was Laura Hayes,from the Queens of Comedy.The other one was one of Russell Simmons’ favorites.His name was Gi George.My favorites on here are D.L. Hughley,Ricky Harris,and the very first comedian on here.His name was AJ Jamal.There is A LOT of cussin’ and swearin’.Every comedian also tells at least one sex joke.So if you have young children,DO NOT let them near Stop to the ENTIRE SERIES.Otherwise,sit relieve and appreciate the greatest stand up TV present ever recorded.I’m signing off for now.In the mean time check out the rest of the series,I guarantee you will like it.

The strength of DOCTOR WHO, the fresh series and the new, has always been change, and change it has. Over forty-years ago the display began with one actor and now we have 10 actors who have portrayed the 900+ Timelord. The first season of the original series ended by changing leads through regeneration, as the 2nd season ended with the “lost” of not only the companion / care for interest, but the whole “point-of-view” for the recent series: Rose Tyler. Since the PILOT or “ROSE” episode the series has been through her eyes. The viewers could portray to the Human perspective more readily than the sometimes alien POV of the title character. In fact, the series gave up not only Rose, but her family, Mickey Smith, Jackie Tyler; Mum, Pete Tyler ( deceased, sort of) ,all of the anchor characters that added so great emotion to the original series.

Can the series, even one a clever and frosty as Dr. Who, survive such change.

The acknowledge is yes, definitely, yes. Although, there is a loss, infact the sense of loss that the viewer feels, is surely an undercurrent of the entire season, starting with the Christmas special or THE RUNAWAY BRIDE, the precursor to the suitable first episode of the season. Opening good after series two leaves off, the Bride a.k.a Donna Top-notch played by U.K. comedian Catherine Tate appears in the TARDIS, the Doctor has miniature time to spy his loss before he is literally running for his life again. Like the Christmas Invasion, the special is light-hearted, and introduces a “one-shot” temporary companion (although Donna will be a major-part of season 4) . One highlight of the “BRIDE” would be the sparkling soundtrack provided by composer Murray Gold, a truly cinematic fully orchestral backdrop that sells some fanboy innovative moments like a CAR Toddle WITH THE TARDIS ( I kid u not, the iconic Call-box is zipping though traffic like something from a 70’s cop-show) . Donna sums up the subtle theme as she declines the role of companion, stating that the Doctor needs someone to “conclude him from going to far” as he coldly sticks to his assertion of the previous Christmas: “No second chances” while dispatching the Empress and her brood.

In the second myth in this space, but the trusty season opener, unique regular companion MARTHA JONES is introduced in a satisfying commence to 2007 in “SMITH and JONES” ( a goof reference to the Doctor’s sometimes alias of Dr. John Smith which shows up again in the season, too) . An all too different character than Rose, Martha is Medical Student, so she doesn’t need the Doctor to rescue her from her life as slacker Rose did, she’s intelligent in a less pop culture intention than Rose, more analytical like the Doctor. Like Rose, we meet her family in the episodes opening over several rapid-fire conversations via cellphone. Queer things are afoot at her hospital which eventually ends up on the Moon. More as window dressing, the Jadoon Stormtroopers, beautifully realized alien police are searching for an vampiric alien among the human patients and doctors. Martha and the Doctor immediately compose an appetizing on camouflage chemistry, while storytellers lop to the straggle and give us two instances of Doctor/Companion kisses, the throwaway nature establishes the preoccupied (with love-lost) tone that the Doctor will regard Martha (unfortunately more like a old Dr. Who relationship) . The Doctor spells this out saying, “this doesn’t mean anything,” sadly for Martha, this feeling isn’t mutual and leads to choices made by the kill of the season. So the Doctor sacrifices himself to flush out the fugitive, while Martha literally breaths her final breath in an attempt to place the Doctor’s life, earning herself a non-committal invite to the TARDIS.

The major portion of the first half of the 13 point to season, 14 with the “Bride” Special (#0) is old-fashioned. Smith & Jones (#1) is strong, the Shakespeare Code (#2) is frankly Incandescent!

GRIDLOCK (#3) is very fine, but the Dalek 2 parter: “Daleks in Manhattan” and “Evolution of the Daleks (#4-5) “, NOT SO Incandescent, nor is “Lazarius Experiment (#6) ” or “42 (#7) ” But the final HALF of the season (#8-13) is GOLDEN, leading up to a 3 fraction finale re-introducing a classic character that will blow you away!!! Away!!!

“SHAKESPEARE CODE”, Martha’s first wobble serve in time, they meet the Bard himself and learn the secret of Shakespeare’s illustrious lost play. This was film partly in the exact rebuild Globe Theater, so it looks substantial. As is Dean Kelly’s rock-n-roll performance as the renown playwright. This contains some of the best dialogue the series has EVER had, so considerable so that you considerable search for it repeatedly to truly savor this one ( I played this one to high-schoolers as a follow-up to Hamlet) .

There are some edifying performances all around, but the “Evolution” of the Human-Dalek (both costume and opinion), is disappointing and distracting. But, the Art Deco 1930s style Empire Dwelling Perform does lend itself to that of the Daleks.

Episodes 6 and 7, “The LAZARIUS EXPERIMENT” and “42″ are both so derivative of Celebrated sci-fi that they are unsatisfying when compared to some of the really substantial shows of the season. LAZARIUS is very distinguished a variation on “the Glide” while “42″ with its valid time opinion (”24″ reversed) and spacecraft claustrophobia is like both Impossible Planet of last season and other movies of the genre. But, Dr. Lazarius himself is afforded an expedient performance by Dr. Who writer Stamp Gatiss ( of “League of Gentlemen” and “Jekyll”) .

Again proving that the producers are suitable fans themselves, episodes 8 and 9, Human Nature and The Family of Blood, are based on a fan accepted Dr. Who Recent (with the 7th Doctor), translating seamlessly to TV. It is a classic anecdote thought, the Doctor becomes Human!! In order to speed a family of aliens ( a notion already borrowed from the new for season one’s Slitheens, an alien surname) the Doctor puts his Timelord identity into a gaze, only Martha knows who he is and is effect in charge of this secret as he really becomes John Smith, History teacher (of course) of a boys school honest before WWI. I can’t say enough about the heart-wrenching excellence of this 2 parter. The Doctor falls in cherish and must obtain some hard choices. This also sets up things to advance in the finale.

Episode 10, “BLINK,” happens to be filler, like last seasons “Admire and Monsters” in which the regular cast is all but absent in order to shoot another episode simultaneously. Like “Worship and Monsters” this episode is a creative triumph, also faulty on a previously published epic. “BLINK” also happens to be the scariest expose of the unique series history!

In a nutshell, the Doctor is sending messages from the past to “the exhibit” through DVD extras or easter eggs, warning about weeping angel statues that go at you when no one is looking, so don’t even blink! Although, no one is killed on mask, not in any feeble sense, this one is tranquil keeping my kids up at night (especially in a city famed for its cemeteries) ! BLINK was written by Steven Moffat, two-time consequtive HUGO winner (both for DR.WHO, series 2 the “GIRL IN THE FIREPLACE” and series one’s “EMPTY CHILD.” Moffat has next year’s Hugo in the bag with BLINK, if his writing in JEKYLL doesn’t split the vote (explore my review for more on JEKYLL) .

The final 3 parter, “UTOPIA”, “The SOUND of DRUMS” and “LAST of the TIMELORDS” are perfection. Really. I can say more without revealing too distinguished (although the U.K. press already did that long before the shows aired), but the season is fat of clues leading up to this (even in TORCHWOODS final episodes there are clues) . Capt. Jack returns for all three of these and there are primary guest appearances such as SIR DEREK JACOBI ( celebrated for I, Claudius), how large is that!! Also, John Sims (from Life on Mars) . The first of these 3 parts, UTOPIA, comes across as a Angry Max deal, don’t give up on it, that is unbiased subterfuge! Form plans to study the three of these back-to-back-to-back, you’re not gonna’ want to close.

Third time’s a charm–that’s the inevitable cliche that pops to mind. If the first series (season) of Doctor Who was helpful with some hiccups and the second quite blooming overall, the show’s creators seem to have really hit their walk with the third series here and brought forth an first-rate range of science fiction adventures at once provocative, inventive, and exciting–innovative and modern but very just to the show’s spirit over the decades. Oh, and loads of fun, of course.

By now David Tennant has a totally surefire recall of the Doctor’s character and has contributed noteworthy to its portrayal–and convincingly developed it in the bargain, especially in light of the events of series two. Eccentric as always, frenetic and off the wall but silently nursing a deep wretched, launch and generous and yet with a clear emotional distance and brusqueness. The Doctor we all know and cherish, but a minute more complex. You will never find me to say that he’s better than Tom Baker as some have, but my sense is that Tennant may very well destroy up putting as definitive a heed on the renegade Time Lord for this generation as Baker did for us old-timers. As for the Doctor’s companion, it’s determined that the writers were wisely avoiding a tell of Rose (whom we all miss, yes) and going instead for a somewhat more worn and shining foil in up-and-coming med student Martha (as played by Freema Agyeman) –a doctor in training, as it were, a bit of cleverness that the writers thankfully capitalize on in her first episode. The chemistry strains a bit to spark at first and the one-sided romance angle is brought in a bit too abruptly perhaps, but unruffled The Doctor and Martha perform a nice, believable team overall.

The storytelling for this series is excellence itself. Not perfection, mind you, which is humanly impossible anyway, but even the lesser episodes are better than most of what you’ll gather on TV nowadays–especially when it comes to sci-fi. “The Runaway Bride” is estimable if slightly zigzag holiday fun in the plan a Christmas special should be, “Smith and Jones” has a hint of Douglas Adams influence in its satirically-edged motifs of galactic bureaucracies and absurd situations, “The Shakespeare Code” is a highly memorable pseudo-historical starring the Bard himself in a manner totally cohesive with the dwelling, and “Gridlock” is a claustrophobic return to Novel Original York with an edgier angle. The “Daleks in Manhattan”/”Evolution of the Daleks” two-parter is kind of like comfort food for older Doctor Who fans–a very typical Dalek yarn of invasion and mutation, but with a few new ingredients like the human/dalek hybrid and the 1930’s Unique York setting. “The Lazarus Experiment” and “42″ likewise conform to tried-and-true Doctor Who formulas but successfully so, “42″ being something of an cocktail mix of “Ark in Plot” and “Inferno” complete with a not overplayed ecological theme.

On the other hand, “Human Nature”/”The Family of Blood” and “Blink” are unlike anything ever before seen really in Doctor Who and really showcase the creativity and never-ending potential of the exhibit. And then finally the three-part anecdote series conclusion, “Utopia”/”The Sound of Drums”/”The Last of the Time Lords” first takes the Doctor to the Substantial Crunch and then builds on countless clues scattered throughout all the season’s prior episodes to expertly spring quite a surprise on the unsuspecting viewer, the return of…well, if you don’t know I won’t give it away, but I haven’t seen this particular character so masterfully portrayed since the current in the early 1970’s. It must be admitted that the climax in section three is objective a tad fanciful and will induce a sense of deja vu in anyone who in their childhood attested their concept in magic and clapped their hands accordingly so as to revive Tinkerbell, but this didn’t really bother me consciously till well afterwards, meaning that the writers succeeded in getting me to suspend my disbelief long enough for them to derive away with their forgivable limited cheat.

I don’t know about the others on this board, but I have actually watched through the movie, listened to the commentary track, and viewed the featurette. If I have any one complaint, it would be for a longer featurette.

First of all, this is a completely current re-edit. Expositional scenes that are establishing the basis of the series (which are wordy and tiring, the mosey of the unusual pilot) are trimmed. The action is tighter. The movie has also been re-scored, whereas the pilot contained re-hashed music from the modern Stargate feature film. There are also a handful of fresh shots, improved special effects, and a re-recording of Teal’c’s disclose (no longer does he have that queer accent that he had in the pilot, but it is now in keeping with the rest of the series) .

There is no longer any graphic nudity. Carter no longer makes the cringe-inducing comment about her reproductive organs being on the inside, nor does she say she can “McGuyver” anything, and a continuity error has been removed regarding being able to step encourage through the Stargate once entering (study Apophis’ entrance at the beginning of the film) .

First off, dont gather me evil i Like Stargate! i fill every DVD of both SG1 and Atlantis, even have a few novles! Shows i behold and seek and appreciate the more i examine! When i first heard last year about this “re-imagined” pilot movie i was enraged! Becaused it is one of my fave episodes of SG1 (If not my first)

But when i watched this good off the bat i was deeply disappointed! Lines were sever out from the movie that didnt even need to be! making considerable of the initiate seem rushed! Sam’s intro scene got a mountainous carve, She has a few unique lines here and there in the movie as well. Brad Wright said it made her character ’stronger’ i didnt inspect this! Because she seems more wide eyed then in the unique! Especially when she meets Dr Jackson for the 1st time!(i did a face palm to that one!)

Teal’c (Christopher Consider) had his ADR re looped making him sound out of Season ten where his reveal has become alot deeper with age. The recent CGI isnt anything that made me go ‘wow what an improvement!’ Yeah the nudity scene was lop, this i didnt mind cause thats not what Sg1 is about, but the few novel ’scenes’ added in have changed the mosey of the movie for me! The original scenes are nothing worth the money of this DVD! They seemed rushed and poorly scripted (and the reason why this dvd was done was cause Wright didnt like most of the early writing? ) Most are unprejudiced different takes of scenes that were in the unusual, which i guess were not In the new because they werent as apt in performance and scripting!!

The biggest sin of a change was taking out the “Macgyver” referance, which i conception was a nice touch to Richard Dean Anderson who is one of may fav actors! But this next change is what has me stumped the most! Where Major Kawalsky gets a Goa’uld in him is completely removed, why? I have no plan!! Has Wright in his thirst for easy money forgotten about the episode “The Enemy Within”?? Which follows up from the Children of the Gods!!!! As i said, im stumped with that one!

I never opinion the day would reach where i would be upset with a Stargate dvd for it is my most loved TV reveal, but shaded to say, that day as arrived…

All in all this ‘Re-hashed’ version might be for one off fresh comers! Since it has no ties with the next Episode in the 1st season now! I dont know how any factual Stargate SG1 fan can get anything in this to acquire it seem worth it or that is is better! This DVD has gone into my collection (which i guess makes it complete composed) and when i next commence the SG1 saga again, i will be watching the modern polit movie over this!

After Hammer Studio had such success with their versions of Dracula and Frankenstein, it was inevitable they would tackle another one of the classic monsters of Universal’s anxiety pantheon. Man, what a thankless role Lee was stuck with in this one. His mummy makeup is as stiff as a plaster cast, he doesn’t even derive to growl, and the only emotion he’s allowed to insist in this one – effect for an extended flashback scene where’s he’s the high priest preparing the Princess for burial – is through the eyes. So this Mummy has a two-track, lost love/revenge theme going. Trustworthy fun, THE MUMMY is about as family-safe film as you’ll acquire. There’s no nudity, extremely minimal gore, and there’s more talk than anxiety. Engrossing talk, too, especially the third act guilt-trip Mehemet Bey tries to lay on Banning. Solid recommendation.

I saw this movie a few months benefit on AMC and wondered aloud ‘why’ it had not yet been released on DVD. I saw the movie in a theatre when first released (yes, I’m that stale) and down through the years whether, Saturday Night At The Movies, or AMC, each time I discover it again, be pleased it as distinguished as ever.

It is a movie made during the years when Hollywood level-headed knew how to accomplish a decent western. I’ve been watching westerns from the 30’s and 40’s on the Western Channel lately, and have reach to beget most of the better ones were made during those years.

But Yellow Sky is great more than a movie, it is impartial humdrum, flat out, superior entertainment. Portion of that comes from the solid cast contributing to the movie, and though it would have been mountainous to have it shot in color, the starkness of shaded and white adds to the overall affect. As another reviewer says it is as first-rate as Luke Short’s State WEST, or numerous others such as MY DARLING CLEMENTINE, or Immense IN THE SADDLE.

If you have any interest in the older shaded and white westerns you cannot miss this one. And as is legal prior to the later 1950’s, the white hats bag out in this one. No suffering, anti-hero in this movie; not grand of a right message here either, other than it is better to be obliging, than unpleasant. Or pay for a woman’s hat when you appropriate one for your best gal!

Yellow Sky is another in a growing list of mammoth Westerns who are finally receiving their due by being released on DVD. This classic dismal and white Western was filmed before Peck’s The Gunfighter, and some of his other stout westerns, such as The Bravados and The Stout Country.

Peck plays the leader of a band of outlaws who happen upon the seemingly deserted ghost town of Yellow Sky. As it turns out,the town does have two citizens, a prospector and his granddaughter. Figuring that the two have a stash of gold, the gang plans to lift the two, until Peck falls for the granddaughter, which pits Peck against his ancient gang, now led by Richard Widmark.

The scenes with Peck and the granddaughter, played by Anne Baxter, are capable. Widmark plays his typical outrageous and shady desperado with aplomb, and the rest of the cast, including Harry Morgan and John Russell,

are tall.

Sandrine narrates this bizarre epic of sexual power. Probably the most agreeable thing that I can say about “Secret Things” is that it is a film for clear tastes. This is talky, introverted, neurotic, psychosexual gobbledygook. The ideas presented in “Secret Things” are not fresh, but most of the film is sufficiently seductive and unpredictable to withhold the audience wondering how it will all turn out. That is not to say that it is realistic. There is a point at which the myth goes over the top and, in my idea, becomes laughably baroque and humdrum. “The Final Programme” is an adaptation of Michael Moorcock’s first book in the Jerry Cornelius series. Like Elric, the Jerry Cornelius stories, an legend in themselves, comprise a subset of his Eternal Champion memoir, inspired in section by Jungian psychology and the theories of Joseph Campbell. Of all of Moorcock’s books, the Jerry Cornelius stories are the most experimental and are by far those which lend themselves the least to movie adaptation.

Robert Fuest, who was a residence designer and director of the Avengers TV series and the Dr. Phibes movies, makes an admirable, and visually intelligent, attempt at adapting the first current, however what he creates is ultimately flawed. This is most noticeable in the ending (which I won’t spoil) which comes off as purely pretentious camp in the film, although it works well in the current.

One of the things which makes the Jerry Cornelius series most moving is that each current takes station in a slightly different world with slightly different characters with similar names, reliving the same dramas over and over again. For example, there is the fancy triangle between Jerry and his brother and their sister, which is barely developed in the movie, perhaps for censorship reasons. As you progress through each book, the themes become reinforced and the series’ exploration of archetypes becomes stronger. The treasure triangle, for example, becomes more profound and takes on mythic tones, like the legends of Osiris, Isis and Anubis. By adapting only the first unusual, the movie loses most of its impact and its focus on the themes in the fresh becomes quite surface. So instead of an incredible shimmering dawdle, you instead derive what appears to be an especially campy, bizarre and racey episode of the Avengers, with secret agents and spies in appreciate dress racing to retrieve a mysterious microchip in a psychedelic and decadent age.

Another weakness of the movie is that it gives only a bare discover at the Slay of the World, something that is wonderfully portrayed (in different manners) in each of the Cornelius books. The plot’s incidental, but what the hey. Jerry Cornelius (Jon Finch) is a Nobel Laureate living on Bell’s scotch, pills, and chocolate digestives in a chaotic world where Trafalgar Square is a mountainous dump, arms dealers operate in basements across from the National Gallery, and Amsterdam’s now “25 square miles of white ash–for once the Americans got it good.” Jerry’s dad, mad-scientist and founder of the Cornelius line, was working on something curious in Lapland when he died, but that’s not Jerry’s dilemma now. He’s more afraid about his crazy brother Frank (the astonishing Derek O’Connor), who is holding their sister Catherine hostage in the Family Manse and is, if possible, more strung out than Jerry.

That “used house” is a super-modern fortress, of course, complete with lights of simulate “pseudo-epilepsy”, booby traps, poison gas, and a pantheon of James Bondish dangers. Along the draw to the microfilm, it becomes apparent there’s something very strange about Miss Brunner, and that Frank’s not the fool he seems.

I know it’s dated and I don’t care. I don’t care if the continuity is poor. I don’t care if the budget could’ve been bigger. I don’t care if the “science” is Junk with a capital “Juh”. I’m oblivious to it all, because this is such an inspiring movie. For one thing, Jon Finch is improbable. He’s the perfect Jerry, and Prince could only PRAY to wear a Goth/New Romantic suit as well as Finch does. For another, Jenny Runacre’s Miss Brunner was feminist before there was a current notion of what that word meant. And the versatile Derek O’Connor’s greasy, desperate Frank is vivid.

You’ll need to have your finger on the “rewind” button–the dialogue comes hasty and urbane. You’ll hold recognizing British character actors, and let’s face it, if you’re female,you’ll delight in watching Finch, who’s easy on the eyes. And the visual jokes–watch for “Esteem” embroidered on the vampirical Brunner nightie in the “climactic” final scene!

A warning, though: this really does deserve its R rating. Hustle the kiddie-winks to bed first–then devour!

This movie begins with Chantel (Dee) she is a girl who likes men, probably inherited from her very french mother who was in prove business in Paris.

She knows all the secrets to a blissful marriage, sly tricks, and everything. So when the whole family is suddenly transfered to Unusual York for the fathers (Lund) job. There Chantel meets Eugene (Darin) the photographer, who has his believe “views” on marriage. And he loves being a bachelor, that is until Chantel slyly changes all thise views, with her mothers aid, of course.

So, the couple are married. But now Chantel has to retain Gene keen.

Which she has disaster with at first, that is until Chantels mother gives her the ‘giude to a overjoyed marriage’ which she says worked wonderfully with her father! And when Chantel looks down she is stunned that the book is called How to Verbalize a Man’s Best Friend!!

She is disgusted!

Until she starts to expend it, and finds out iy works wonderfully!

And everything goes wonderfully until…

This is a Immense movie! Henry Levin does a completely incredible job, and I sigh you not to slay a dinky in seeing it!!

I saw this movie when it first came out and I loved it then. The chronicle centers around a woman who marries the like of her life but is concerned about keeping him eager. Her mother, a French woman, instructs her on the art of “keeping your man gay” by giving her a book on dog training. All this works very well until he finds out that he’s being trained!
The main stars of the film are Sandra Dee, Bobby Darin, and Stephanie Powers. I definitely would recommend this film and That Humorous Feeling – both with Bobby Darin and Sandra Dee.
These films are mammoth examples of the comedies of the sixties.
