If you’ve watched this long running, wholesome, family-friendly series then you know exactly what I mean. Cartman is such a cute slight critter. And so colorful and loving. When I mediate of Cartman I am always reminded of all the edifying that Jesus has done. Cartman is a totally thankless individual who only wants to spread worship and devotion.

Given the unusual world political climate, Trey Parker and Matt Stone hit the ball honest out of the park with this film. I haven’t laughed so hard so frequently in a theater in years! This was simply astonishing.

The sheer goofy peep and movement of the deliberately low-tech puppet bodies, combined with their high-tech heads and incredibly account for sets, makes for some truly classic moments. When the World Police thoughtfully swoop down to catch out a handful of terrorist, while simultaneously destroying grand of the surrounding city in the process, you can’t attend but laugh at the irony. How this film didn’t spark an international PR incident with North Korea is fair fantastic to me.

What makes their political edge so refreshing and sidesplitting is they’re willingness to retract on everybody, rather than merely bolstering a right- or left-wing notion. And the merciless procedure they go after Hollywood celeb-activists was profoundly droll. Too often I’ve been sickened by the overly simplistic mentality that comes from the mouths of definite actors when they consume their plot as public figures to comment on the world affairs. Parker and Stone describe acting notables like Penn, Baldwin, Robbins, Sarandon, and Garofalo as complete idiots, who are as easily herded about by Kim Jong-Il as so many sheep. Matt Damon is practically a troglodyte who is so uninteresting that all his brain can manage is to say his name over and over again.

Like “South Park Bigger, Longer and Uncut,” this film has numerous musical numbers that are ancient to punctuate the humor of various scenes. The song “America, F**k Yeah!” once again practically had me on the floor, especially when it was uses a second time but with a remarkable slower beat. The level of adult humor and vulgarity here will probably not compose this film qualified for itsy-bitsy kids, and mighty of the political edginess may be lost on most teenagers. But if there were a category for “Best Comedy Film,” Parker and Stone would both procure an Oscars, hands down!

Trey Parker and Matt Stone have a current ability to blend the nuanced with the distinct, to mix cerebral humor with cheap notice gags and fart jokes. This is probably the most novel of all the Astaire/Rogers films, because while it is enormously scrumptious, it isn’t principally because of the musical numbers. In fact, the dance numbers are among the weakest of all their films. What makes the film a delight is the comedy, and the person who drives the comedy is Ginger Rogers. Ginger was not Fred’s equal as a dancer, but she complemented him perfectly. Level-headed quite young in their first film together (she was 21 when filming started for FLYING TO RIO), Fred was able to mold her dance style to fit his perfectly. She was able to follow him perfectly, and many of their dances have their finest moments as she reacts in her face to what is happening in their dance.

Where Ginger far surpassed Fred was as an actress. At the time of CAREFREE, she had already scored a major success the year before in the drama STAGEDOOR (it was in the wake of this film that her costar Katherine Hepburn, who didn’t salvage along with Ginger at all, quipped of Fred and Ginger, “He gives her class and she gives him sex.” But by the time of CAREFREE, Ginger’s abilities as an actress had begun to dwelling her career apart from Fred on a higher individual plane. In fact, from this point until his comeback from retirement in 1948 (to replace the injured Gene Kelly in EASTER PARADE), Ginger was actually the larger box office blueprint. The next few years after CAREFREE would explore Ginger starring in a string of helpful comedies like BACHELOR MOTHER and THE MAJOR AND THE MINOR, as well as winning an Oscar for KITTY FOYLE.

In the leisurely ’70’s or beginning of the ’80’s a movie was released in the United States called Shogun Assassin. When I saw this movie I was insecure by its visceral appeal. I was fair a kid but I knew that this was something special. For years and years I would deliver my friends about this movie called Shogun Assassin and they would objective watch at me with empty looks. A couple years ago I was working in a droll book store and when I was flipping through the month’s order guide I came across these Lone Wolf and Cub movies in the order beget. I stared in disbelief, “Could this be truly what I am seeing? Can it be Shogun Assassin? ” Of course I jumped around the store for a bit – scaring the customers and my boss. From my recollection the movie Shogun Assassin – around 70-80% of the movie was taken from this one Lone Wolf and Cub movie – Lone Wolf and Cub at the River Styx. With other bits and pieces from the other Lone Wolf and Cub movies spliced in as well.

For those of you who have the need for some stout sword play, frosty ninjas, and a baby cart that would obtain Conan envious – this is the movie for you! A limited bit of the ultra-violence, and a tall movie.

This 2nd in the Series is nearly non-stop action as Ogami Itto, the weak Shogun Executioner, is beset by enemies from every side. Pushing his young son along in a very tricky baby cart he is busy dispatching attackers from the onset to the closing titles.

First up are the Akashi Yagyu Clanswomen who introduce themselves to us by dismembering an opponent bit-by-bit from nose to ankles as they fight him. But even these talented female Ninjas are no match for Ogami, he of the Suiouryu Horse-Slaying Technique of sword fighting, although they accomplish a hell of an distress attacking him with hats, knives, and even a tall sort of radish!

Initially, many of the stories place our heroes against Skeletor, revolving around Castle Grayskull. As the series grew the adventures took them to many different locations and foes, often putting characters on both sides of the battle. Sometimes criticized for being too dismal & violent for its time, this claim seems a shrimp redundant in today’s age of children’s graphic animation. Particularly note-worthy is that each episode ended with one or two of the characters presenting a factual from that episode’s story – the consequences of thoughts & actions, which makes the series particularly relevant given the times we live in. Why this sinister statement??? Originally cartoons were shown on Saturday morning only. My memories working at Filmation are some of the best I have of my 25+ years in the animation industry. He-Man changed the map cartoons would be viewed forever… this is a must have space!!!! Lets hope they choose to release some of the other memorable bewitching shows created at Filmation Studios.

The film takes region in England, and starts out with the robbery of an armored car. Things are going smoothly, until one of the guards sees an opportunity to hasten, and gets shot by the other guard. Ahhh…an inside job. Anyway, the men execute a new race, and meet up later in a hidden plot. A call to the anonymous mastermind of the heist, who none of the steady robbers have ever met, provides specific instructions with regards to the inside man and the rest of the gang. The inside man is told to lift the money to a remote area, and the others leave, with the view that they will accumulate their shares later, but soon acquire caught by the police through an anonymous tip, as the inside man reaches the rendezvous, advance the winter quarters of a local circus, only to meet with an untimely ruin. The money is taken, and the mystery begins to unfold. As the police continue their investigation, bank notes inaugurate appearing in the dwelling of the circus’ winter quarters, and Inspector Elliot (Leo Gurn) suspects the person or persons interested in the theft may be hiding out at the circus. We soon meet various performers of the circus, which sets up a whole load of red herrings, as the performers are presented as a volatile lot, prone to acting like overgrown children. Among the performers is Gregor (Christopher Lee), the lion tamer who always wears a cover to hide his faulty disfigurement due to a supposed accident keen a rambunctious kitty. The inside man’s body is discovered on the grounds of the circus, and a performer is also kakked shortly thereafter, reinforcing Inspector Elliot’s suspicions with regards to the killer and his/her connection to the circus. More and more clues (most useless) are thrown our blueprint as histories are revealed, and the situation gets fairly convoluted. Klaus Kinski is listed as an actor in the film, but his role is shrimp as an unusual heist man who followed the money to the circus. I would say he has about five minutes of total mask time, and absolutely no development for his character is presented, making his role essentially useless. So who is the mastermind? Who is responsible for murdering various individuals throughout the film? What secret does Gregor conceal leisurely his hide?

As others have stated, this would appear to be a alarm movie on first search for, but it isn’t. It’s really a somewhat bloated mystery/drama, presenting, rather clumsily, a number of suspects. The map motives were thrown around so obviously will do you groan, and when you finally do notice the identity of the mastermind gradual the crimes and his reasoning, you may be disappointed. There was cramped, if anything, that would have drawn the viewer to rob that individual as the criminal, other than that’s how is was written in the script. I do like Christopher Lee a lot, but his role here seems to be more of the producers using the star power of his name more than anything else to sell the movie. Leo Genn provides a titanic performance as the harassed by his supervisor inspector, more or less riding out the situation threads until they create the culprit. He does portion together the puzzle approach the demolish, but given the information we had offered by the film, I am unruffled unsure how he came to the conclusions he did, making the whole `mystery’ element a diminutive awkward and clunky. The film started out strong, but ended with a bit of a sputter for me. And I have to say, I kinda felt sorry for the animals shown, the lions and elephants, as they all looked rather tired and sickly, as is often the case of circuses and zoos, despite even the most well-meaning efforts to care for the animals.

Blue Underground provides a really nice looking wide veil print here, along with a number of special features, including a commentary track by director John Moxley, American and U.K. trailers for the film, poster, press book and collected galleries for the film, and very detailed talent bios of actors Christopher Lee and Klaus Kinski. The film here runs 91 minutes, compared to a meager 65 minutes on a previous VHS copy I saw, suggesting that maybe this is a truly restored version. In the ruin, I would say this is a three star release of a two star film. By the method, I really loved the tagline for this film, `The most horrifying syndicate of execrable in history!’ A syndicate, to me, at least, implies more than honest one person…but okay, let’s go along…’The most horrifying…in history’? Oh bruther…talk about `selling it’.

I was hugely disappointed that this wasn’t at all what I hoped it was…that being a Euro-shocker along the lines of “Circus of Horrors”. What I found instead is an OK mystery based on a original by Edgar Wallace that’s fairly gripping with some dapper surprises. After an admittedly capable opening about an armored car heist, the anecdote shifts to Barbarini’s Circus which has an atmosphere rife with tension: assumed identities, jealous romance, a risky lioness named Sheba, her hooded tamer Gregor (Christopher Lee), a shifty knife thrower and a blackmailing dwarf named Mr.Grand (Skip Martin) . The stolen money lands in the circus and an escaped member of the heist is murdered by…a knife thrower. Scotland Yard is soon on the circus grounds and there are red herrings galore. The heist member’s body is found and Mario the knife thrower’s delicate assistant Gina (delicious Margaret Lee), who knows something, is also killed by…a knife thrower. The killer is never revealed until the destroy. To be impartial, despite my initial disappointment, this is a intelligent, beautifully photographed, well acted (if a tad overplotted) diversion that should please hardcore mystery fans. The music fetch is morose Euro-jazz flavored and blares at key moments which I found kind’ve fun. It’s not a scare film at all. Instead, it’s laced with bizarre atmosphere and pleasant intrigue that kept me guessing fair up to the ruin. I did not guess the killer’s identity. Obedient supporting cast with Suzy Kendall as Gregor’s “niece”, Anthony Newlands as Barbarini, Klaus Kinski as a mystery drifter connected to the heist, Leo Genn as the ringmaster-cum-hero and especially Skip Martin as the scandalous Mr.Ample. The DVD from Blue Underground is apt in quality. I don’t know why this was slice so severely when making the rounds as “Psycho-Circus”. There’s no gore or nudity. Unbiased solid, well made storytelling. The action shifts between Scotland Yard and the circus and is rather tame…yet it sustains your interest. I have to recommend it as a blooming trustworthy mystery for fans of the genre and for fans of friendly British thrillers. But, hold in mind that “Circus of Scare” is NOT a scare film. I hope it doesn’t disappoint too many people because it IS rather noble and deserves to be seen and appreciated for what it really is…a really decent mystery-thriller.

Exceptionally crisp and vibrant visuals acquire up .hack//Legend of the Twilight, although the character designs are a bit of a mixed bag. Kite and Shaded Rose (especially Dark Rose) are rendered in an overly cutesy, superdeformed-esque style which I wasn’t particularly fond of. The rest of the characters (i.e. Balmung, Sanjuro, Ohka, etc.) looked really respectable however. I loved the catchy opening theme “Modern World”, but I found the background music that would play during the scenes to be distracting in general.

Overall, I found .hack//Legend of the Twilight to be an delicious and racy series with impartial the honest number of episodes — not too long that it would stagger, but not too short that it would hang.

Before I bought this, I had absolutely no opinion what .Hack was all about. I’ve got a friend that told me some things about the games but other than that I knew nothing.

This series is about a brother and sister’s adventure into an online game called The World. It all starts out with Shugo (the Brother) and Rena (the Sister) winning an online contest. The prizes for this contest are Special Edition Play Forms, Dismal Rose and Kite. The siblings then enter The World and launch exploring and getting a feel for things.

However, it soon becomes apparent that there is something really harmful going on inside of The World and they have something to do with it. Everywhere the duo travels, the encounter monsters that should not be there in the first residence, but they also have the ability to automatically regenerate their afflict.

Soon, the duo encounter and add current friends to their clan as they depart The World, attempting to level up. Soon things consume a turn for the worse when Rena disappears inside of The World and her body goes into a coma in the “true world”. Now, it’s up to Shugo and his friends to try to accumulate Rena and try to assign The World from the wicked that threatens it.

All I have to say is that this present is both wonderful and hilarious. There are some really droll moments in this point to. The animation itself is beautifully done. I bear that anyone that buys this DVD will not be disappointed in the least bit. The only abominable thing is that the opening and ending credits are in their unusual language. However, at the waste of each DVD, the ending credits have been translated so you’ll know when that volume is over. Oh, and at the raze of the very last episode, design distinct to notice all the plot through the credits for the final ending. I was so disturbed that it was gonna be one of those “commence endings”. Anyway, I’m really anxious to regain the next series .Hack//Sign, it sounds like it has as worthy promise as this one did.

Even the renowned people Forrest comes across meet with inconvenience, President Kennedy & John Lennon are assassinated, George Wallace is shot and Elvis Presley dies young. There are pleasant performances all around. Sally Field is feisty as Forrest’s mama, Mykelti Williamson is droll as Bubba, Gary Sinese as Lt. Dan is a perfect rough edged foil to Forrest and Robin Wright as Jenny portrays the confusion that young people of the times felt perfectly. While all those performances are of high quality, Forrest Gump is Tom Hanks’ tour de force. He is utterly intelligent as Forrest. He is in virtually every scene of the movie and never once does he fail to astound. He becomes Forrest and makes you care what happens to him. Mr. Hanks deservedly won his second consecutive Best Actor Oscar for the role and cemented himself as the best actor of his generation and one of the best of all time.

Forrest Gump is one of the best film of all time. Definitely the best Zemeckis’s work so far and he has establish so noteworthy soul and depth to this 1994 Academy Award winning Best Recount. This movie portrays the life of a slow-witted character who gets embroiled in various ridiculous situations. He was a Vietnam war hero, received a congressional medal of honour, shook hands with many US Presidents and was a successful owner of a limited company. We gain to stare many world events through the eyes of a supposedly “plain” character. The meander and ride of the movie was perfect as we shuffle through various historical events like the Vietnam War, assasination of JFK and the Watergate Scandal. Tom Hanks gave an undeniably fantastic performance as Forrest and truly deserves the Oscar that he earned. Gary Sinise gave a first-rate performance as Lieutenant Dan in the movie. Even though he was only nominated and did not secure anything, I felt he really deserves the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor. The scene where he pulled Forrest down from the bed and cursed him for saving his life, honest simply blew me away. Sally Field is also incredible as Forrest’s mother and deserves the Oscar as well. The line “Forrest, you have to do your best what God has given you. Be courageous Forrest, be fearless in everything you do. Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you gonna gain.” really moved me and brought me tears. No movie had bring such emotion in me. Robin Wright did her role well as Forrest’s appreciate interest and complements well to Forrest’s life. The actors truly brings the characters to life and I must salute Zemeckis for choosing the perfect cast. The technical aspect of the film is honest beneficial. The visual effects is unlike anything we have seen before. Many movies have not fully utilised the CGI effects to complement it. Nowadays, filmmakers impartial want to explain what special effects they can do rather than what the special effects can do for the film. In Forrest Gump, visual effects are utilised to their best to develop incredible scenes. Scenes like the flying feather, Lieutenant Dans’ missing legs, Vietnam War, meeting of the president is unprejudiced extraordinary. This is what visual effects is all about. The movie does have a sort of semi-continuous yarn, but it’s also got a lot of elements from the manga, such as Takenuchi’s motion-sickness adventure.

If you’re a fan of Cromartie High, you must have this. If you’re not, you should give it a try anyway.

Although I rarely scrutinize anime now, from time to time there is a series that catches my interest, not so distinguished because of an intricate state or heavenly animation, but because it possesses a bizarre sense of humor that I have yet to encounter. One such series is Azuma Kiyohiko’s Azumanga Daioh and another is Nonaka Eiji’s surreal Cromartie High School. Sporting the name of American baseball player Warren Cromartie, who made quite a splash in Japanese professional baseball from 1984-1990 for the Yomiuri Giants, Cromartie High School centers around a student named Kamiyama Takashi whose straight-laced nature puts him quite at odds with his classmates who resemble more a bunch of yakuza than high school students. But there’s mighty more. Besides yakuza in training, other “students” include a robot who does not know he is a robot, a gorilla, and a fellow who resembles Freddie Mercury of Queen fame. Any description would not do the series justice, but the consuming develop serves it fell and diminutive shifts that would be too blunt in live action films advance off flawlessly. However, as with a number of other celebrated manga/anime series, a live action movie was produced of Cromartie High School.

Episodic in nature, many sections from the Cromartie High School film are lifted directly from the anime/manga, of course, so those familiar with those versions of the series will be treated to seeing them performed with loyal actors, so the audience will be treated to seeing such scenes as Takenouchi suffering from motion sickness on a plane and Yamaguchi Noboru’s detestation of the Putan exhibit once again. However, while such scenes work well for animation, it fails delicate hard in live action. Also, the randomness of the film is not very delicious because 85 minutes is objective too long for a type of humor that works best in 15 cramped segments.

Cromartie High School is definitely a film made for those familiar with the anime/manga, because those uninitiated into the bizarreness of this series might be left scratching their heads. Droll at times, but mostly dumb and venerable, Cromartie High School the movie is one that can be skipped by those familiar with its earlier formats and those who are not.
