Well-intentioned yet hopelessly contrived, “Rocky V” (1990) earns a few points by avoiding the comic-book slickness of “Rocky IV.” Unfortunately, Sylvester Stallone does a abominable job establishing the Italian Stallion’s bittersweet decline. The climactic street brawl works, but the family-oriented chronicle goes in too many directions. At least “Rocky V” paved the method for a triumphant finale with “Rocky Balboa.”

Confused? Well, the movie itself was very well written. If you’ve watched the ROCKY series and truly understood it, then V’s narrative makes sense in a linear plot. The character of Rocky Balboa has approach burly circle, from bum to star to bum. Rocky’s older now, and the boxing game is powerful different. After losing his riches to a hooked accountant, losing brain cells to years of repeated beatings (most notably by Ivan Drago in IV), and losing respect by a Don King-like promoter, Rocky feels every bit the loser he did benefit in the recent ROCKY. He tries to continue living his boxing career vicariously through a modern protege, with disastrous results. And although his boxing career is over, Rocky mild proves he is the best there is at what he does (ala Wolverine) by returning to his street-fighting roots. Without giving away the ending of the movie, the point is that Rocky has his family, and the rest of life’s troubles mean nothing when up against that fact.

So it was a well-written movie, but I personally didn’t care for it all that noteworthy. Legal off the bat, I loathe it when the edifying guys secure screwed. I don’t mind seeing Rocky beat up, for whatever reason, but it really gets to me that after five films, he winds up in the gutter again, despite it being done realistically. Also, the soundtrack to the movie sucked substantial time. Rap music? For Pete’s sake, what happened to “Observe of the Tiger”? What happened to Vince DiCola? And the climactic street fight wasn’t corepgraphed well, I plan. It went on too long, and Rocky took beatings in thew ghastly parts. When you hear that triumphant Rocky theme originate to play (even if only fort a few seconds), you inquire of that fight to be over a few seconds later. Instead, every time it looked like Rocky won, his opponent kept jumping up like the killer in a slasher flick. And call me a sap, but I take an ending where the hero wins ample, rather than unprejudiced survives.

So, while not a ample ending, it is at least a positive and plausible ending. ROCKY V may be the worst of the series, but it’s unruffled ok, and worth a viewing at least once for closure’s sake. Go ahead and procure the collection, you’ll gather 3 mountainous movies, and two okay ones.

Fun fact: in a “rare” indicate of Hollywood nepotism, we pick up that Stallone’s son can actually act. Although I will never figure out how that character manages to age so swiftly. In III, he looked about 7. IV took status the day after, and he looked to be about 10. V took space soon after IV, and now he’s about 14. What is Rocky feeding this kid?

This is what my 7 year-old daughter has to say about the movie: My name is Eliza and I idea the movie was mountainous. It is about 6 girls, one girl’s 2 puppies, and a bully. One of the girls accidentally brings one of her puppies with her to the mall. The dog gets lost and the bully finds it. And they go on a expansive adventure getting the puppy support. The songs are titanic and I cherish performing to them. The last song is my current. Cloe, the girl with the yellow hair is my approved character because she has yellow hair like me.

I am a immense Bratz Babyz fan, and when I found out about this movie, I had to peek it! The songs are stout, my current songs are “Ready Or Not”, and “All Together”. The movie is about six three year olds-(Cloe; Jade; Sasha; Yasmin; Nora; and Nita” who go to the mall for a day of fun at the mall’s day care. When Nora and Nita approach at the day care, Nora finds she accidently brought her twin sister’s (Nita) puppy to the mall. Nita picks on Nora a lot, and this only makes Nita more pissed off at Nora. The puppy ends up escaping, and the babyz have to dash the day care without Miss Calabash-who runs the day care-noticing, which shouldn’t be too hard, considering all the other kids in the day care are always chasing her around and jumping on her. When the babyz race, they come by the puppy has been “dognapped” by the mall bully: Duane. Duane demands $50 for the puppy’s wonderful return. and suggests Nora enter the mall karoake contest, in which the prize is $50. Nora has a dread of singing in front of people, which leads the babyz to consider of a different ways to win the money. Sasha, Nita, Yasmin, and Harvey (who sees the babyz hasten and follows them along with his friend, Cameron) try to win the money wait on one intention, while Cloe, Jade, Nora, and Cameron another. Along the blueprint, the babyz come by caught now and again, which leads us to a romance with Miss Calabash and the mall Security Guard (Gordan Merf) when he brings the babyz wait on to the day care. After he brings the befriend once, when he leaves, he leaves the door start, so the babyz can elope again, and he can peruse Miss Calabash! Will the babyz free the puppy? Gaze the movie to accumulate out! This movie is spacious, I’ve seen like at least one million times (literlly) and have even memorized the script to the film! This is a must-see movie!

I loved going to “Rocky Anxiety” when I was in college, but watching on home video fair wasn’t the same. I’m probably committing heresy but there’s a reason why this sci-fi, apprehension, B-movie satire, rock musical didn’t really manufacture it stout until theaters started showing it as a midnight movie and fans started attending in costume and talking encourage to the veil. The 25th anniversary DVD, with several audience participation options, really is the next best thing to being there.

For the uninitiated, “Rocky Anxiety” tells the sage of two clean-cut American youths, uptight Brad Majors (Barry Bostwick of “Mosey City”) and Janet Weiss (Susan Sarandon of “Insensible Man Walking”) whose car breaks down on a sunless, deserted road in the middle of a storm–the classic beginning to many dread movies–and who notice serve at a nearby castle. Castles, as Rocky fans know, don’t have phones! What this castle has instead is a cross-dressing angry scientist Frank-N-Furter Tim Curry, in perhaps his finest performance), two very creepy servants, Riff-Raff (Richard O’Brien, who wrote the musical) and Magenta (Patricia Quinn), and various other hangers-on, including lovers Columbia (Microscopic Nell) and biker Eddie (Meat Loaf) . Brad and Janet traipse in on a party celebrating the creation of Frank-N-Furter’s muscle-bound boy-toy “Rocky.” Bed-hopping chaos soon ensues, until the servants protest their suitable identities and lift control.

Punctuating this wacky state are some of the wildest rock-musical songs ever written. In addition to the classic “Time Warp,” there’s O’Brien’s salute to cult-classic B-movies, “Science Fiction Double Feature,” Meat Loaf’s “Hot Patootie,” and Sarandon ode to sexual self-discovery, “Toucha Toucha Touch Me!”

So grand for the “Rocky virgin” piece of the review… What makes the DVD so exceptional is the chance to experience “Rocky Apprehension” at home nearly like you would in the theater. The DVD has the option of turning on the audience veil comments as well as another option for viewing members of the Rocky Scare Fan Club performing occupy scenes before returning to the main movie. For those less familiar with audience participation, the DVD can prompt when to throw toast, toilet paper, rice, etc., light a match, attach your newspaper on your head, etc.

The second disc contains sharp interviews with cast members, where fans can derive out about their reaction to starring in this cult classic. Meat Loaf’s description of not realizing what “Rocky Alarm” was going to be about and running out of the theater when Tim Curry entered wearing fishnet stockings, spiked heels, a merry widow, and a leather jacket and singing “Sweet Transvestite” is hysterical. Patricia Quinn talks about how her fondness for the opening song, “Science Fiction Double Feature” made her want to win the role even though she hadn’t read the rest of the script. What? Don’t remember Quinn singing that number? In the stage versions she did, but the song got reassigned in the film version–and Quinn makes her feelings about that QUITE definite. Sarandon makes the attractive observation that “Rocky Terror” probably kept a lot of art house theaters in business over the years, since they could count on respectable revenue from the midnight movie, even if the latest regular-hours offering flopped. In Bostwick’s interview, however, the actor sounds a bit like William Shatner giving his anti-Trekkie diatribe on “Saturday Night Live.”

The only disappointments on the DVD are that the outtakes really aren’t that consuming and actor bios aren’t provided. I would have liked to watch what else the “minor” cast members did after Rocky, but that information is slight to a few lines in the companion booklet. Also, some of the audience-participation comments are nearly impossible to understand because fans are talking over each other. But then that’s allotment of the modern-day theater experience. Even Sarandon famed in her interview that talking succor to the shroud has gone from the more unison catechism near to a loud free-for-all.

What seemed so risqué and unsightly a few decades ago seems grand more innocent today, but it was tall when it all began and it’s unexcited enormous! If you’ve never ventured into the theater to experience “Rocky Scare,” this is the best draw to experience it at home.

This is a movie you either admire or despise. I first heard of this movie when I saw “Fame” … when I saw the kids in the movie watching this in the theater, it not only looked humdrum, but the whole environment of people throwing things at each other in the theater seemed a microscopic scary… and what’s with all the midnight theater showings?

I finally had to secure out what the enormous fuss was about and so I rented it on video and watched it at a friend’s house. The beginning moves radiant boring, but you will soon be either taking the video benefit (without rewinding) to the store, or you’ll be doubled over in laughter during the few minutes your jaw isn’t hanging inaugurate.

Tim Curry is absolutely hilarious and perfect for his role… an outerspace Transexual from Transylvania (a planet, not the country – I contemplate) … Dr. Frankenfurter.

Despite the boring parts here and there, the music is grand and droll to boot. Where else can you stare Susan Surrandon walking around in her underwear and Meatloaf riding a motorcycle with stitches all over his head like Boris Karloff? This is a cult classic, but not objective because it’s unique and zigzag… it’s also a musical and a comedy. The soundtrack is mammoth fair by itself, kindly beat, peppy tunes, clever (albeit not mainstream) lyrics.

If the belief of seeing a man walking around wearing lipstick and a garter belt makes you want to shout and purchase a bath, then this isn’t the film for you… you’ll feel like you need an exorcism afterwards!

If you like a great laugh, beneficial music and a movie like you’ve never seen before, this is worth a shot.

After seeing this in the safety of my friend’s home, I saw it a couple of years later in the theater. It was an bright experience I can say I’ve been through, but that’s about it… the movie is appetizing by itself, unprejudiced watching it on your tv. The closed captioning makes the DVD worth the cost immediately, so you don’t miss any dialogue or lyrics… but this DVD includes hilarious out-takes, previously deleted musical numbers AND terrific THX sound!

If you are already a nostalgic fan of this film, this is a must-have DVD.

The film includes simulated violence (you observe Frankenfurter swing a pick-axe at someone, later he’s covered with blood) …. and the themes are adult in nature and should not be viewed by children.

If you’ve seen Ranma and fancy it then this collection is impartial lawful for you. An wonderful tag for a pudgy anime, minus some of the peripherals (no case art and such, impartial boring cases chock corpulent o’ discs) .

This is one of those quirky toothsome series that you can’t relieve but tumble in like with, in English or Japanese (the voices for the most fragment are fabulous and even the switch from Sarah Exclusive as boy Ranma to Richard Cox is an appropriate one mid-series) .

Don’t back Chinese bootlegs. All-region DVD format = unimaginative give-away. You may adore the anime and for this sign, determined it sounds profitable. But none of your dollars go into the pockets of the creator who made this anime that you esteem.

I give the note 5 stars but the DVD release only 3. I know what you are thinking, he is giving 3 because of the syndicated version, but no. THe reason I give 3 stars is because of the repeated episodes from season 3. How disappointed I am with Lionsgate. I wish someone else owned the rights to release this point to in its entirety, in its honest order and with no repeated shows from previous seasons.

This Has advise episodes from season 3 and missing episodes. The Indicate was very humorous. It’s to awful they did such a awful job with the dvd’s. Someone should have previewed the dvd’s for errors before they published them.

Brian de Palma made an outlandish decision in creating this apparently very expensive, very unique and confusing version of a film, a movie less about the grisly/twisted unsolved slay (grossly illustrated ad infinitum here) of a wannabe 1940s actress of the title and more about two boxer cops (bland Josh Hartnett as ‘Mr. Ice’ and over the top Aaron Eckhart as ‘Mr. Fire’) and their bizarre ménage a trois with unfocused Scarlett Johansson. The film as written by Josh Friedman attempts to follow the unique by James Ellroy, itself a unique riff on the Sunless Dahlia destroy. What results is an over produced, over directed, under realized recreation of the 1940s complete with slicky costumes and very loud music by (surprisingly!) Designate Isham.

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Black Dahlia! Click Here

There are so many subplots filled with mosey on characters that keeping the record understandable is almost impossible – certainly not worth an attempt to capsulize for a review. There are some terrific itsy-bitsy performances by Fiona Shaw as the druggie exasperated woman whose role becomes famous only at film’s extinguish, Hilary Swank as the copycat Dahlia who dallies in cops and soldiers and lesbians (convincingly so), and Mia Kirshner who presence as the legal Shadowy Dahlia is shown only in shaded and white film clips that indeed focus the unwieldy script while she is on!

Odd to discover actors with the credentials of this cast wandering around in la-la land seemingly looking for a script that makes sense. But it is a exquisite period fraction to sight at despite the lack of reasonable storyline. Grady Harp, December 06

Even though it is unexcited one of California’s unsolved murders, the whole Elizabeth Short case can be told in about 60 seconds. So making a 2 hour movie would be quite a feat. That’s why the director factored the L.A. “Zoot Suit” riots of 1943, a boxing match, the killing of dismal pimps and prostitutes who were minding their hold business, the dysfunctional esteem affair between Scarlett Johansson’s character and Josh Harnett’s partner, a bunch of very chic lesbians, and the bizarre wealthy family of a bi-sexual Hilary Swank (does her mother have Parkinson’s or is that the actress’ conception of an alcoholic socialite? )

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Black Dahlia! Click Here

We didn’t hear about the cancel until 20 minutes had passed and only then because it happened on the street slack the pimp shoot-out. Somehow the “first responders” on the Shaded Dahlia crime scene didn’t hear all of that gun fire on the other side of the building. Instead of going to the rescue of their fellow officers, they and a dozen reporters stood transfixed on the naked body in the park. So powerful for “Officer down! Send back-up!” The best thing about this movie was the autopsy which was done in a compelling memoir by a jowly M.E. That’s about all we learned about this cancel victim who was made out to be a slut who slept with men AND women in exchange for a sandwich or pair of nylons. In fact, there was not one woman in this movie who was not depicted as prostitute, golddigger, or tramp. Only the lesbians had class and dignity – and there is a gang of them! (Seek for an uncredited k.d. lang in a sizable part of camp.)

Hartnett has the charisma of a grape. Johansson fits moral in during an era when 20 year-old women looked like they were 35. But she handles a lame role like a pro. I don’t know why Swank was even in the place. And that accent! I couldn’t figure out if she was a “Valley Girl” or a Nazi!

Many of facts of the destroy are imperfect – Elizabeth Short’s dad didn’t live in Los Angeles – he lived in Vallejo, a obedient 8 hour drive north, 30 miles above San Francisco. Here he lives lawful down the street. Nothing was said about his staging him a suicide and sneaking off to Vallejo, abandoning Elizabeth’s mother with 5 girls to raise alone in Massachusetts. He surfaced years later, trying to reunite with his wife, who declined. The “Zoot Suit Riots” were in 1943 and the Dahlia case was in 1947. Here they all happened within a few months. I understand “literary license” but here it wasn’t old-fashioned to fabricate an existing chronicle better – it was archaic to try to make something which wasn’t distinguished to begin with.

The production has a mammoth “film noir” feel – I was expecting Mickey Spillane to slump in. But this movies should have objective been “FILM NO”! Brian De Palma, what were you thinking?

[good things]

The movie, after starting off listless, was snappy paced and quite suspenseful. The movie payed homage to former fright classics such as Texas Chainsaw Massacre (the slaughterhouse), Friday The 13th Piece 2 and The Town That Dreaded Sundown (the sack head), A Nightmare On Elm Street (green and red walls in the slaughterhouse), and Sleepaway Camp (bug tape) . You can squawk that Stevan Mena is a mountainous fan of the genre classics.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Malevolence! Click Here

The killer reminded me more of Jason in Friday The 13th fragment 2 with his mannerisms. He stalked and he hunted like Jason. There are also a few scenes that to me seemed like carbon copies of scenes in Friday The 13th Section 2. The acting, in my view, was also dead-on along with the directing.

[the bad]

Buy,Download, Or Stream Malevolence! Click Here

The movie needed more blood and gore. It needed more killing. The whole bank robbery and ‘up to the bank robbery’ scenes were objective too mighty. It slowed the movie down alot, and really had no significance to the staunch area.

The movie was current in alot of ways, but the homage was a bit overdone in a few scenes. It seemed like a friday The 13th Portion 2 remake in some of the scenes. I did like that, but when it comes down to it, they left a puny sour taste in my mouth.

[final thoughts]

This movie was so hyped prior to it’s release. By watching trailers and checking the website periodically I was so anxious to survey it. It’s black to say that when I did fetch around to survey it that I was severely let down. I am not saying the movie sucked, it did not, but it was procedure to dull. I score myself trying to examine it and I can’t and if I do I bump it up a few chapters to earn to the piece where the movie starts go accelerate up.

But, I really liked the killer, and the memoir gradual him. I liked the references to alarm classics, and I liked the soundtrack.

There were hints of a sequel, and I would really like to sight it. Hopefully they can fix the mistakes they made in this one and improve.

If I’m not erroneous, this movie was released straight-to-video. I’ve never seen a s-2-v movie I liked, so I’m not distinct why I opinion this would be an exception. I had read an extremely wrong synopsis on the internet for this movie, but it had sounded generous so I rented it. This movie is dreadful. I’ve seen a lot of dreadful theatrical anxiety films, this movie doesn’t even deserve a theatrical release. But, I must admit. It had a few favorable elements (hence, my 2 stars) . The music (tranquil by writer & director Stevan Mena) is really obliging, like “Halloween” & “Friday the 13th” reliable. Some of the uses of the music during scenes where the killer appears are gorgeous effective. But this movie sucked from the beginning. It begins with a petite kid (who we’ve already seen has been missing) watching a man extinguish a young girl in a basement/torture chamber. Then 10 years later, we meets Kurt (Richard Glover), Marilyn (Heather Magee), Max (Keith Chambers), and Julian

(Brandon Johnson) . Marilyn and Max are siblings. Marilyn and Julian are lovers. They four understanding to hold a bank and after they do (apparently the budget wasn’t mountainous enough to film the robbery) Max is slow and Kurt is heading to the meeting plot, a secluded “deserted” house in the middle of nowhere.

When Max was shot, I was compelled to write a thank-you stamp to the writer,

because Keith Chambers is one of the worst actors I’ve ever seen. This man should be shot. Anyway, as Marilyn and Julian close to bury Max’s body. Kurt drives to the house when his tire blows. Kurt (dressed in the same jumpsuit he robbed the bank in and holding two bags of cash…What a dreary a$$) jacks a car that contains a young mother named Samantha (Samantha Unlit) and her daughter Courtney (Courtney Bertolone) . Why does Samantha have a English accent? Anyway, Kurt takes the young mother and daughter to the house, when Courtney manages to run. Kurt runs after her, leaving Samantha in the house. Kurt ends up at another house (the setting of the torture chamber) and is killed. The killer takes one of Kurt’s money bags and uses it as his veil. Marilyn and Julian then come at the meeting location to get Samantha and most of their money missing. Insert next cliche here. Anyway, at the slay of the movie we pick up out who the killer is. Never before have I known exactly what was going to happen before it did, writer Mena doesn’t even bother to add something in at the destroy to develop us go “wow, now that’s a twist.” Instead, after “discovering” the identity of the killer; we are given yet another “I saw it forty minutes ago” twist. I contemplate Stevan Mena should stick to scoring panic films rather than writing them. Seriously, folks. Don’t ruin your time.

Emergency was a revolutionary TV exhibit. It portrayed the work of firefighters, paramedics, and doctors shapely distinguished the draw it happens in sincere life. Prior to Emergency medical based shows tended to lean towards soap opera style dramatics to produce compelling stories. With Emergency the writers old-fashioned the proper jargon spoken by these professionals (”51 launch an IV, D5W TKO,” “We’re transmitting EKG,” “We’re sending you a strip, vitals to follow. Pulse is 160, the victim is in improper afflict, Rampart. V-fib!”), and it showed how lives were really saved.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Emergency – Season One! Click Here

The pain of firefighters’ work was really shown for the first time in Emergency, and while the present did tend to glamorize firefighters to a runt degree it also showed the dedication that they have to their jobs. Decades before the movie Backdraft you saw firefighters risking their lives on nearly a daily basis. Realism was goal one for the producers, and they achieved that goal.

Season 1 has some gargantuan episodes, but it also lacks the cast chemistry that came a year or two later with the addition of Michael Norell as Captain Stanley. The cast – filled with vast personalities like Randolph Mantooth, Kevin Tighe, Robert Fuller, Bobby Troup, Ron Pinkard, and Julie London – spent the first season finding their footing with their characters. By season 2 most of them had their characters pegged and developed gigantic interplay with each other.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Emergency – Season One! Click Here

The other firefighters on the indicate, played by Tim Donnelly, Marco Lopez, and Mike Stoker also deserve mention because although some of them were given very petite to stretch them as actors they did have the perfect personalities to play those characters.

Jack Webb co-created Emergency, and it was his desire to invent the expose in as cessation to a “documentary” style as possible. The realism of Emergency ultimately paved the blueprint for later medical shows such as ER.

This is definitely a present that should have its entire urge on DVD. Hopefully this first season sells well enought to watch the rest of the expose released on DVD. To quote Captain Stanley, “Space 51, KMG 365.”

While I realize this won’t be released for a couple of months, I have a copy of all the episodes on video tape and honest can’t wait for the clarity of DVD. If you’re too young to remember this 70s popular, you need to discover. This series singlehandedly changed the face of emergency medicine by showing the U.S. how paramedics made a contrast. The series inspired thousands to become firefighters, paramedics, nurses, and doctors. The paramedic program was, within one year, at least 20 years ahead of what it would’ve been without it. As the prior reviewer said, Universal, you rock! Now, let’s gain cracking on the other seasons’ episodes.

This is one of those big action movies where the hero isn’t burdened by doubt, ineptitude, or guilt. He knows what he has to do and he does it coolly and ruthlessly! What he does is raze unpleasant guys… Lots and lots of awful guys of all nationalities, races, and creeds who deserve what they accept. Very efficient and ecumenical…

I lost count, but Liam Neeson must have killed about 50 dreadful guys in this one. And they support on spawning so he has more to ruin. I haven’t seen one hero consume on so many unpleasant guys who preserve on reproducing since Steven Segal made “Hard to Demolish”…

The action is non-stop and the retribution is very satisfying. There is a lot of violence, but this is not an explicit blood and gore film. Unbiased profitable dilapidated Hollywood movie violence that hits you at the gut level. “Taken” is a nice vicarious vigilante thrill for all the rest of us who must play by the rules. Liam Neeson does an salubrious job! Highly recommended for action fans…

I was skeptical when I heard that this movie would be produced by Luc Besson (The Professional, La Femme Nikita), the go to man or the French Joel Silver of action movies since some of his films have been hit and miss. This turns out to be a hit (it’s already grossed $143 million thus far) thanks to the casting of Liam Neesom (Schindler’s List; Occupy Roy) . A physically imposing actor of enormous presence, Neesom brings this physicality to the role of an retired CIA man brought serve into action when his daughter is kidnapped in Paris. What ensues is 97 minutes of breakneck action and Neesom is totally convincing in this role. It may lack the complexity of the Bourne series but if you like your action movies to be lean and mean–this is the flick to survey!!
